History

Holden Optimist Soccer Club (HOSC) is a MYSA affiliate serving Johnson County, Missouri.  Since its inception as a youth program of the Holden Optimist Club serving Holden/Kingsville Area is to provide youth with positive and growth opportunities.  Under the leadership of our volunteers, players are provided an environment to improve their basic soccer skills, increase their understanding of the game, open opportunities to assist players at all levels of play, and develop positive individual and community relationships.

Firehawks Soccer Club was started as a youth program of the Holden Optimist Club. The first couple of years the youth program played in Holden.  About the third year added a U12 team playing in an informal league with Warrensburg Park & Rec.  Teams included Warrensburg, Clinton, Whiteman, Concordia and Holden.  The traveling program grew to 4 teams playing in Warrensburg ranging from U10 to U15. In 2008 the Firehawks Soccer Club started playing in Pleasant Hill, Kansas City Suburban Soccer League (KCSSL) with 6 teams. In 2009 KCSSL combined with KCML.  The Firehawks Soccer Club officially changed its name in May 2009 to Holden Optimist Soccer Club (HOSC) and a member of Missouri Youth Soccer Association (MYSA).  The Club continues to use the Firehawks name for some of its teams. The last couple of years the club is playing through Harrisonville.  This fall we have started are rebuilding with the beginning stages of an Firehawks Academy with teams playing in Warrensburg, as well as Harrisonville.
