Letter to Parents

Dear Vaquero Parents,

As you know it's been a very difficult year and the board wanted you to know we have kept you all in our thoughts and have truly missed seeing you and your kids!   There is hope that the current health and safety concerns will change in the near future.  We know some of you may be eager to get the kids back on the field, currently the conditions in our county are less than ideal for us to get back to the program as usual.

However, our league would like to start planning for a time when we can get some of the kids back on the field at least for some skill building clinics.  Please keep in mind this is very tentative due to the uncertainty of our current stay at home orders. Vaquero will be adapting as these conditions change and we are provided further directives from the County Health Department, the City of Glendale and District 16 Little League.

In order to prepare for the time when we can resume and meet the required time line to register with Little League, we would like to start signing up players for the 2021 Spring Clinics. All players will be placed on a waiting list until we can get out into the field. We currently will be offering clinic spots only for children league age 8-12 years old. We plan to begin with clinics in the month of February (unless told otherwise by the County Health Department, the City of Glendale and District 16 Little League) and continue until we receive the go-ahead from city officials and health authorities to resume regular season play. If and when that happens, teams will be formed and clinic fees will be applied to your registration fee.  Clinic fees will be $50 a month and as a courtesy in May we will be applying a $50 credit to our returning 2020 players who continue through May. Registration will only be done online and is no guarantee of actual space in the program.

Vaquero will follow all state, county, city and Little League International protocols to ensure the health and safety of our players, volunteers, and league families. For more information regarding what we are doing, and to register please visit our website at https://sports.bluesombrero.com/vaqueroll

In order to ensure the safety of all, players will be asked to stay home if they are feeling ill, if anyone living in the household suspects covid, if they have traveled in the last 10 days, or have been around anyone feeling ill or recently diagnosed with COVID-19 for the county mandated quarantine time. Only players will be allowed at the practice; parents will be asked to sit in their cars at all times. All players must wear masks and bring their own equipment. All players will be asked to sanitize their hands and have their temperature checked and answer the health questionnaire before stepping on the practice field. All players shall remain 6 feet from each other at all times. All players will enter the field on one side and be asked to exit the other side. No players will be allowed to congregate in the dugouts.  All coaches will wear masks and be trained with appropriate covid 19 safety guidelines. All coaches must be approved by the board. No more than 2 adults shall be on the field.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact Nancy Zabala Graham at (323) 719-6695 or at [email protected]. We look forward to seeing your kids out in the field once things get a little better.

Very truly yours,

Connie Jimenez
