2022 Summer Tennis

Beginner Youth Camps
Our youth tennis camps introduce kids to the sport of tennis. We make tennis easy to learn by using shorter courts for our youth program, lower/slower bouncing balls (red, orange, or green depending on age), and shorter nets for the youngest kids. Camps are coached by high school tennis players and the program is overseen by the SSP Varsity Girls Tennis Coaches. For those entering 5th - 8th grade with some tennis experience, we would recommend our middle school program.

Camp I: June 13-17 M-F
11:15 am - $50 
K-3rd grades - 45 min 
4th-8th graders - 1 hour 

Camp II: July 25-29 M-F
11:15 am - $50 
K-3rd grades - 45 min
4th-8th graders - 1 hour

Please note that Youth Camp I dates are before the SSP Summer School program beings.

Middle School Program
This summer our middle school tennis program will consist of two days of tennis instruction and play opportunities under the direction of Varsity Head Coach Rebecca Spreigl with the help of high school tennis players. Green and/or yellow balls will be used in this program on the full size court. All 6th-8th graders are invited as well as 5th graders who have played in our youth program or have other tennis experience. 6th-8th graders who are new to the game can opt to join a youth camp instead they'd prefer.

Mondays/Wednesdays June 13-July 27 (drills)
9-10 am 
Potential match day may be added
6th-8th graders (and 5th graders with experience)
$80 

Varsity Program
Our varsity level summer program is for those who have played in the South St. Paul Varsity or Junior Varsity tennis programs and those who plan to try out for those programs next school year. This program will be led by Koua Yang, a PTR and USPTA certified coach with 25 years of high school coaching experience. 

Exact dates TBD, but will skip the week of July 4th.
Tuesday mornings 9-11 am
Thursday afternoons 3:30-5:30 pm
$240 (estimated but will depend on how many players sign up & additional coaches hired)

Other Varsity Summer Tennis opportunities still in the works:
Monday Night Doubles - free to those in the drill program
Team match play against other varsity teams - dates/times/cost TBD
