About Martyn Lancaster: He has played soccer since he was able to walk and has developed a deep passion for playing, studying and coaching the game. Over his 16 year professional career, Martyn was very accomplished player, earning a cap from the U23 England squad, being voted 2011 Ft. Lauderdale Strikers' Player of the Year, and most recently, being named to the NASL Best 11 team in 2013. While in the US, he has played on three US Division 2 Finalist teams. Martyn served as Team Captain at Chester City FC, Leigh R.M.I. and for the Atlanta Silverbacks.
Martyn is a US National "A" and "B" licensed coach with an NSCAA Advanced National, and NSCAA Premier diplomas and also holds the EUFA "B" and "C" license. He worked with several clubs and colleges in Georgia, Florida and England for the past 10 years before starting the Georgia Knights FC in 2013.
After retiring from playing, Martyn's goal was to bring a quality soccer program to the youth in his community. He envisioned the Georgia Knights Football Club long before its inception and has dedicated the past two years to developing players, coaches, and facilities in this family owned and operatated soccer club. Under his tutelage, GKFC grew from 20 participants in its inaugural season to over 200 in under a year. He is very excited to be able to be a part of GKFC from the beginning and hopes to continue to bring great programs to the Knights!
