Frequently Asked Questions

When does the season start/end?
The games will start on the third Saturday in April and continue through July 2nd.
The high school age divisions would start at the end of May and continue through mid July.

When will practice start?
Teams are determined by February. Managers may contact the players anytime to participate in practice prior to the season start. The Park District won’t open up the baseball fields until they are dry. This typically would be in early April. Any practice prior to the fields being open would usually be conducted at an indoor facility. Costs for the use of the indoor facility are not covered in the registration fees.

When are the games played?
Games can be played Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 5:45pm or 7:45pm and on Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. There also may be some games played on a Saturday evening at 5:00pm or 7:00pm.

Where are the games played?
We use the Lemont Park District Centennial fields (on 127th Street), Bambrick Park (on Smith Road),  Northview Park (on McCarthy Road east of the Lemont High School) and The Bowl (behind Central School). Some games may be played in surrounding communities, but a majority of the games will be played in Lemont.

I don’t live in Lemont, can my children still play in LBSC?
Yes, residents of neighboring communities can participate in LBSC programs. There aren’t any additional fees if you don’t reside within Lemont.

Can I make a request to have my child with someone else?
Yes, during the registration process on the page where you select your uniform sizes, there is a box that says “Comments”. You can place your request in this space. LBSC will try to honor these requests as best as we can. We attempt to balance teams based on player ratings and therefore we cannot guarantee that these request will be fulfilled.

I missed the registration period, can my child still play?
After the teams are formed, you can still create a registration and the player's name will automatically go on a Wait List. If there is space on a team or if a player drops out, registrations on the Wait List will be contacted to see if they are still interested. We usually order some extra uniforms within each division. These uniforms are ordered based on the average size of player in that division. If you want to be placed onto the team, you must agree to accept the size uniform that was ordered.

What is the cost to play in LBSC?
The cost for the In-House league is $200 per player for Baseball or Softball. Discounts are given for additional baseball or softball players from the same immediate family. T-Ball and Coach Pitch ball is $111 per player. Registrations completed beginning March 4, 2021 will require an additional $25 per player fee.

Can I get a refund after paying the registration fees?
The refund policy is as follows:
1. If you cancel your registration prior to uniforms being ordered, you will receive a 100% refund.
2. If you cancel your registration after uniforms are ordered but before the games start, you will get a refund that is less the amount of the uniform (unless we can replace the player with someone on the Wait List).
3. If you cancel your registration after the games begin, there isn’t a refund unless we can replace the player from the Wait List.
