About Westlake Baseball
Mission
Westlake Baseball Association, Inc. (“WBA”) is a recreational youth baseball league serving the communities of Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks and the greater Conejo Vallery. The WBA provides organized baseball for children ages 3 to 14. The WBA is a member of the national PONY organization which stands for "Protect Our Nations Youth".
WBA’s mission is to create a positive youth baseball experience by providing a safe, fun and nurturing environment that exemplifies the spirit of community, teamwork and friendly competition. The WBA's vision is to be a community leader, recognized as a transparent, practical and balanced youth sports league in the Conejo Valley.
Divisions
Westlake Baseball is divided into five divisions based on the age and ability of the child. The divisions generally cover a two-year age span and include Foal/Shetland (ages 3-6); Pinto (ages 7-8); Mustang (ages 9-10); Bronco (ages 11-12) and Pony (ages 13-14).
Each division/age group is divided into an American League and a National League. The American League is more competitive, has more competitive rules and may engage in inter-league play with other area PONY league teams. The National League is a developmental league which stresses player development and skills building.
At the end of each season, select players may be asked to play on a WBA All-Star team. These players participate in competitive tournaments run by PONY.

Volunteers
WBA, founded in 1976, is run solely by volunteers. In addition to our 30 plus member Board of Directors, we are supported by parent volunteers who run all aspects of the league, from field maintenance to the concession stand. Each year over 500 children ages 3 to 14 participate in our league along with more than 150 managers and coaches who volunteer their time to coach our teams. WBA also has an extensive umpire program and is always looking for more volunteers.
