Vernon Youth Soccer Travel Program


Vernon Soccer offers four state-of-the-art full-sided turf fields. All full-sided home games are played on turf with lights available at all fields.
We compete in the MCYSA; some teams also participate in League Cup, State Cup, NJ Cup and various tournaments throughout the year.


Vernon Soccer is proud to offer competitive travel soccer opportunities for dedicated players.

Consistent with the Vernon Youth Soccer mission, the goal of our Travel Program is to provide the youth of Vernon with a positive athletic experience while learning, playing, and enjoying the game of soccer—at a higher level of competition through the Morris County Youth Soccer Association (MCYSA).

 

Program Overview

 

  • Travel soccer begins at U9 and continues through high school (spring only) Focus on developing both technical and tactical skills

  • Two weeknight practices per week

  • Games each Sunday (D1/D2 levels may play on Saturdays)

  • Teams may also compete in tournaments at the coach’s discretion

  • No minimum playing time at higher-level teams—lineups and field time are at the coach’s discretion

 

Our Facilities

 

  • Four state-of-the-art full-sided turf fields

  • All home games played on turf

  • Lights available for evening play

 

Where We Compete

  • League Play: Morris County Youth Soccer Association (MCYSA)

  • Cups & Tournaments: League Cup, plus additional tournaments throughout the year

 

Vernon Soccer Travel Teams

  • Game Days: Primarily Sundays, some Saturdays

  • Travel Time: Away games may require an hour or more from Vernon

  • Holidays: Games may be scheduled on Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and other holidays

  • Practices:

    •  Two per week
    • One led by a professional trainer (1½ hours)

    • Additional practices or scrimmages as needed

  • Fees: May vary per age group and additional fees for outside tournaments and extra trainings

 

 

Developmental Player Program


A great option for players who want to grow their skills before joining a full travel roster.

  • Participate in all practices, training sessions, and scrimmages with a travel team

  • No game or tournament participation required

  • No uniform purchase necessary

  • Coaches may “pull up” developmental players if roster needs arise

  • Eligible to also play in-town

  • Requires a developmental fee in addition to Vernon Soccer registration



Travel Tryouts

Each existing travel and premier team may hold tryouts during the month of April or May or individually throughout their seasons.  If you are new to travel or would like to be considered for developmental player status, contact Kris Beier, VP/Director of Travel at [email protected]Every player wanting to tryout will be required to register via VS club portal. 


No player should be left out for financial reasons.
