Giving back to our community is very important to us! For that reason, we will take time in our regular schedule each season to allow each of our families to participate in a group community service project.
Our project for the 2018 BRIDGES flag football season was to clean up trash in an Olathe park.
Our project for the 2018 BRIDGES soccer season was to deliver flowers and visit with residents in a local nursing facility in Olathe.
Our project for the 2017 BRIDGES flag football and cheerleading season was to collect food items which were then donated to the Johnson County Christmas Bureau to help provide meals for families in need in the community.
Our project for the 2016 BRIDGES soccer season was to donate food items for the Back Snack Program for Olathe schools. This program provides a sack of food for children in need that is sent home on Fridays to provide food while school meals are unavailable over the weekend or extended breaks.
Our project for the 2015 BRIDGES flag football and cheerleading season was to partner with Mission Southside and help prepare and run a free garage sale in an underdeveloped neighborhood. We then had lunch with them afterwards.
Our project for the 2014 BRIDGES soccer season took place on Saturday, April 26th 2014 which involved the kids creating homemade cards and delivered flowers to the amazing elderly and disabled residents who live in Park View Manor in Olathe. We ended up having around 50 players, coaches and parents all carpool as we brightened many resident's days with spring flowers and heartwarming cards!
Our project for the 2013 BRIDGES flag football and cheerleading season took place on Saturday, September 21st 2013 which involved the kids creating homemade cards and banners showing our appreciation for our local firefighters. Parents and coaches were also encouraged to come with their kids to deliver these cards as well as bringing stuffed animals and homemade desserts for the firefighters to hand out to kids in future emergency situations. The firefighters even gave tours to the kids of their fire stations! Thank you Johnson County firefighters for all you do!!!
Past projects have included collecting supplies for hurricane victims, cleaning local parks and delivering gifts to the elderly. If you would like to help out or find out more about BRIDGES community service projects, please contact BRIDGES at
