Anyone interested in coaching should fill out a
coaching application and select the volunteer to coach box during registration.
Coaches must attend monthly RGAA meetings.
Anyone who will be in the dugout or on the field needs to have clearances.
Copies of clearances should be turned in to the RGAA secretary or emailed to
[email protected].
NEW CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS (for more information, click here)
Pennsylvania State law requires all volunteers who come in direct contact with children (Direct contact with children is defined as the care, supervision, guidance or control of children or routine interaction with children.) to have the following clearances:
1. Report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP); and
2. Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse).
3. Additionally, a fingerprint based federal criminal history (FBI) submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent is required if the volunteer has lived outside the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the last 10 years.

- If the individual has been a continuous resident of Pennsylvania for the past 10 years, a signed "Volunteer Clearance Exception" statement
- If the individual has NOT been a continuous resident of Pennsylvania for the past 10 years, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) report-PDE

- After you register online, you will need to visit a Cogent fingerprint facility. The Cogent website includes a map noting where these facilities are located throughout Pennsylvania.

RGAA "shall maintain copies of the required information and require the individual to produce the original documents prior to employment or acceptance to serve in any such capacity," and if RGAA "fails to require an applicant to submit the required clearance before the applicant’s hiring commits a misdemeanor of the third degree."
