FCBA Rules Regarding Walk-Up Music and Announcements
1. Announcement / introduction of players will be limited to the following:
• Team Name,
• Uniform Number,
• First Name and Last Name.
2. Announcement / introduction of players and walk-up music must not contain explicit, sexual, derogatory, or discriminatory language.
3. Announcement / introduction of the player and/or walk-up music must only be played while a team is on offense.
4. Sound effects of any kind outside of the announcement / introduction of the player and/or walk-up music is prohibited. This includes sound effects by teams on defense, directed at poor or favorable play, when a run is scored, or when a home run occurs.
5. Announcement / introduction of the player and/or walk-up music must commence as soon as any “out” is recorded, a runner reaches base safely, or in the case of “time” being called.
6. Total length of the player announcement / introduction and walk-up music cannot exceed 8 seconds total and must stop when batter enters the batter's box.
7. Managers are responsible for enforcing these rules and overseeing any parent, player, or fan administering the announcements / introduction / music.
8. Umpires reserve the right to suspend announcements / introductions / music if it slows pace of game, or during extra innings.
