SEASON DATES: 6/17/2024-8/2/2024 (No practices or games scheduled July 4)

SCHEDULE:
Teams play twice per week. Weekday evenings only. NO SATURDAYS! Most games and practices will be scheduled Mon-Thurs. Fridays may be used for makeup games and additional practices. The earliest games and practices will take place at 5:15 PM.

LOCATION: ALL GAMES AND PRACTICES TAKE PLACE IN PETALUMA at the Lucchesi Park Clubhouse (203 Maria Drive).

LEVEL: This is a recreational league. Players of all levels of experience, including beginners, are welcome to play.

GENDER: Co-Ed

TEAM FORMATION: In an effort to make teams as fair as possible, teams are formed by evaluation and draft. Evaluations will take place the week of June 17. Buddy and coach requests are not honored at this level. Coaches will automatically have their own children on their roster. Head coaches may declare up to two assistant coaches whose children will also automatically be placed on their roster.

DIVISIONS:

LOWER DIVISION (3rd-5th Grade) - The Lower Division is for players who will be entering grades 3-5 in the 2024-25 schoolyear. No prior experience required. Players in 5th grade who have prior basketball experience or who are experienced athletes who might have a better experience playing with and against older players should register for the Middle Division. Players in 5th grade who are new to the sport, small or young for their grade, or who might have a better experience playing with and against younger players should register for the Lower Division. Please note that this division plays full court on full size hoops, just like our Winter Basketball League. For many rising 3rd graders, this will be their first experience playing on the big hoops. Referees will be instructed to take a gentle approach in Lower Division games, educating players about rules as they make calls. Lower Division games and practices will mostly be scheduled for 5:15 PM Mon-Thurs. Each team may have an occasional Friday game and/or a few 6:15 PM games or practices over the course of the season.

MIDDLE DIVISION (5th-7th Grade) - The Middle Division is for players who will be entering grades 5-7 in the 2024-25 schoolyear. No prior experience required for 6th and 7th graders. 5th graders who are new to the sport might have a better experience playing in the Lower Division, which will be slower paced and less competitive than the Middle Division, however they are also welcome to play in the Middle Division if they prefer to play with and against older players. Rising 7th graders with prior basketball experience who are ready for a faster paced more skilled league should register for the Upper Division. Middle Division games and practices will mostly be scheduled for 6:15 PM Mon-Thurs. Each team may have an occasional Friday games and/or a few 5:15 or 7:15 games or practices over the course of the season.

UPPER DIVISION (Jr High & High School) - Our Upper Division is for players who will be in grades 7-12 in the 2024-25 school year. A great way for players who will be trying out for their Jr High teams to keep their skills sharp over the summer and for high schoolers who enjoy playing basketball at a recreational level to have a fun summer league experience. Although the games will be faster paced and of a higher average skill level than the Middle Division, the Upper Division is still a recreational, co-ed league, with equal playing time for all. Even for our big teenagers, our top priority is a positive community sports league experience. Upper Division practices and games will mostly be scheduled for 7:15 PM Mon-Thurs. Each team may have an occasional Friday games and/or a few 6:15 games or practices over the course of the season.

COST: $175 (jersey included)

During the Fun & Games block, players will have an opportunity to put their skills to the test in scrimmages and engaging basketball-inspired games, such as H-O-R-S-E, Thunder, BASEketball, Around the World, Sharks & Minnows, and more! Parents will be invited to come cheer on their player in a full court scrimmage on the last day of camp. Each camp day will include a recess between the two blocks.
