Ralph Dunigan Scholarship applicants must be a high school senior in good standing and have participated in at least three (3) seasons of SLJL Rec League Baseball or Softball or Travel ball or Umpired for SLJL.  

Here are the requirements and suggestions for each:

• The Application has four weighted categories to help determine the scholarship winner

• Essays are to be less than 300 typed words and should talk about how the players’ SLJL experience(s)
  • taught him/her about sportsmanship or
  • team commitment or
  • overcoming personal challenges or
  • helped prepare for the next journey in life

• The Scholarship winner for each group will be determined by the most points

• There will be three $1000 scholarships awarded: one for baseball (boys), one for softball (girls), one for umpire (boy or girl).

All applications must be completed by April 17th. The SLJL Board will select the winners by May 15th and notify the winners as quickly as possible afterwards. They will be given at the Senior Honors Award Night.
