Cajun Rush

2022-2023 Season

9U Bantam Juniors

Program Overview

The Bantam Juniors Division at Cajun Rush aims to prepare players at 9U(players born in 2014) who are ready to take the next step into competitive soccer in a fun, positive, and educational experience.

The Bantam Division is committed to creating a better developmental environment for our players through group training and events. Players will receive the same level of coaching found at the Cajun Rush competitive level. Coaches and players focus on developing the technical proficiency required to play at higher levels of the game, while putting an emphasis on individual decision making and creativity. The Bantam program will focus on technical player development while allowing each player to continue to develop in a fun, competitive environment without the pressure and concern of wins and losses.

Players will be trained by Cajun Rush coaches and will be exposed to multiple coaches throughout the year. Hearing the same messages and technical lessons from different voices ensures the application of all the information learned.

*Cajun Rush offers the Bantam Jrs Division at BOTH campuses: Moore Park and Youngsville Sports Complex.*

Style of Play

The Rush Way to Play is based upon movement and activity by both player and ball. Possession-oriented does not fully describe how we play; attack-oriented does. Whether in possession or in defense, we are attacking. Rush Players play with freedom yet understand the importance of responsibility and the balance between the two. Rush teams are flexible and adapt to varying circumstances. The Rush Way to Play represents both passion and purpose. Stating this style of play is very important as it affects our coaching

Club Commitment

To the development of healthy youth through the game of soccer, with a firm belief in the value of sports in promoting the physical, mental and social well-being of our children.

Core Values

At the Bantam age groups, our players, coaches, and supporters should be focusing on the 7 Rush core values highlighted below:

  • Accountability

  • Humility

  • Enjoyment

  • Passion

  • Safety

  • Tenacity

  • Unity

Playing Time

Playing time for any individual is completely at the coach’s discretion. Rush encourages that playing time at the Bantam level be equal throughout the season. At the younger developmental ages, players should be exposed to as much of the game as possible. Limiting team roster size will aid in increased playing time for all players.

Player Position

In the Bantam Division we believe every player should have the opportunity to experience all positions on the field. Players should not be stereotyped into specific positions because of speed, size or other qualities, but should experience the emotion and functions of all positions on the field. These experiences allow them to advance their soccer knowledge, raise their technical ability, and gives them opportunities to think as a field player, all of which raise the level of their position-specific demands.
