Q: Is this a non-contact League?
A:
 YES!!! There is NO contact or blocking permitted. This makes this a great game for boys & girls of all shapes and sizes without the fear of injury!

Q: How do I register my child for a League?
A: 
The online registration must be done through the NFL Flag website. It will require parents to set up an account. This only needs to be done the FIRST time you are registering your child. Go to your specific League Registration page for further information.

Q: What do I get for my registration fee?
A: 
NFL Authentic Reversible Jersey, flag belt, NFL Certificate, one game every week (one hour games), play-off/super bowl games. USFTL Certified Officials. Professional, organized and available administrative office. Interactive youth-friendly website. The development of Flag Football skills in a structured, exciting environment and a whole bunch of fun for you and your family!

Q: What are the sizes for the NFL Jerseys?

Q: What are the age groups?
A: Toddler / 5-6 / 7-8 / 9-10 / 11-12 / 13-14 / 15-17

Q: How are individual players placed on teams?
A: 
The USFTL places players on teams by teammate request, school and age. 

1. Teammate Request (Up to 2 Mutual Request are allowed, however these are request and are not guaranteed) 
2. What school the child attends 
3. Current Age 

Q: Can I request a friend to be on my child’s team?
A: Yes, you may request a friend in both divisions. However, all request must be mutual but they are not guaranteed. Request can be made through the on-line registration or by emailing the USFTL Office.

Q: How many players are on a team?
A: Maximum of 10 players. Generally 8-10 players are placed on a team.

Q: Practices…When, where, how often?
A: 
The USFTL does not mandate any practices. Practices are recommended at least once a week. Your head coach along with the parents will determine the date/time/location. Teams typically practice at their game location one hour before their scheduled game as this seems to be the most convenient time for everyone. However, the head coach will ultimately be responsible for where and when practices will take place.

Q: What kind of equipment should my child have?
A:
 It is MANDATORY that every child
     -   Wears a mouth piece every time they step onto the field
     -   Wears shorts or pants without pockets (Player may tape the pockets on pants or shorts before games)
We recommend that every child wears cleats. We do not allow metal spikes. Sneakers are also acceptable.

Q: Does the league supply uniforms?
A: 
Yes. We supply NFL Authentic Reversible Jerseys and NFL Flag belts.

Q: Where can I find pants or shorts without pockets for my child?
A:
 At your local sporting goods store.

Q: How much playing time can my child expect?
A: 
The USFTL promotes participation, fun, and fundamentals. Coaches are encouraged to fairly distribute playing time equally amongst all players on the team. We will do our best to assure all players receive equal playing time.

Q: Are the Officials qualified?
A: 
USFTL prides itself in using only trained and certified Officials.

Q: What day and times are the games played?
A: 
Generally games are scheduled Saturday mornings/afternoons. Check your specific league registration page for details.

Q: What types of awards are given?
A: 
1st place division winners receive individual awards and 1st place team trophy.
     2nd place division winners receive individual awards and 2nd place team trophy.
     Every child in the league will receive a NFL Certificate of Achievement.

Q: What is the play-off format?
A: 
Every team makes the play-offs. The play-off format is SINGLE ELIMINATION.

Q: What is our Refund Policy?
A: 

  • No refunds will be issued after the registration deadline for any USFTL programs. Refund Requests must be received prior to registration deadline in order for refund to be processed. All refund requests received prior to the program registration deadline will be assessed a cancellation fee of $35 and forfeit the processing fee. 
  • Refund for illness or emergency will require documentation and will be at the discretion of USFTL.

Q: How do I find out if games are canceled?
A: 
In the rare event that the weather causes us to postpone a game, we will do our best to contact the coaches and parents through our website, email and or text sign ups. On game day, the Officials have the final say on weather safety conditions.

Q: How does weather affect games?
A: 
Flag football games are played rain or shine. In the case of lightning, games will be postponed until the weather conditions are safe. 

Q: How does the Referral Program work? 
A: 
Refer NEW (1st time participants) to USFTL and you will receive up to $40 discount code after the season. Please make sure your referral spells your name correctly.

  • 1 referral will receive $10 off next season’s program.
  • 2 referral will receive $20 off next season’s program.  
  • 3 referral will receive $30 off next season’s program.  
  • 4+ referral will receive $40 off next season’s program. 
Q: How are NFL Teams Determined?
A: 
NFL teams are determined by the order in which each coach registers and puts in their team request.
