About Our Club

Mission

Holden Optimist SC believes that the pursuit of excellence in the areas of academics and soccer helps develop maturity and self-confidence. We believe that the experiences a player has with Holden Optimist SC will be beneficial throughout his lifetime.

The focus of Holden Optimist SC is to promote an opportunity for the youth in our community to have a soccer experience in a fun environment. We are a club that encourages fair play and sportsmanship. Committed volunteers provide players training on individual skill improvement, benefits of team play and promote healthy active living through exercise.

Our goal is to maximize the development of the individual through programming that challenges each player, a coaching staff that adheres to high standards. Holden Optimist SC is resolute in dedicating its time and resources to the technical, tactical, physical, andpsychological aspects of playing soccer.

Offered Programs

	Recreational: The primary objective of the Recreational program is to enable players to learn the game of soccer in a fun and stimulating environment. The focus is on developing their skills to help them be the best soccer players they can be, while maintaining a healthy approach to competitive soccer. Find out more here...
	Mini Kickers: A NEW and EXCITING program focusing on the development of children aged 2 - 4 years old. Our soccer expert and child development professionals have designed an innovative curriculum that introduces your young soccer stars to the basic skills needed in soccer as well as develop their motor, social, and psychological skills. 	Junior Academy: The Jr. Academy Program is a developmental training program for recreation level soccer players ages 5-8 who are looking for the next step. Give your child the opportunity to succeed at the highest level. Our International coaches are coming to you to offer professionally ran practices and sessions. Find out more here...
	Academy: Academy soccer is a small sided developmental program for 9-16 year old players. At this age it is extremely important for players to master the skills and fundamentals needed to progress in select soccer at the older ages. Winning games is not the focus of the Academy and while games will be played, no standings will be kept throughout the season. Find out more here...
	Traveling Teams: The traveling teams play in area leagues and tournaments aged 6 -18 who want a more rigorous schedule and game schedule than recreational soccer. Select soccer is a one year commitment (both fall and spring). Find out more here...
	Tournaments Tournament teams are for players that may or may not be playing in a league. These are for players that are wanting to play, but not wanting to play in an area league. Find out more here...

Challenger British Soccer Camp

Holden Optimist SC is proud to host Challenger Sports' British Soccer Camp is the most popular soccer camp in the country based upon one of the most innovative approaches to coaching youth soccer in the US and Canada. Our experienced staff study the game at all levels and we have identified the key techniques and skills that your players need to work on and master to reach their true potential. With programs for each age, the curriculums includes a variety of foot skills, technical drills, tactical practices, freestyle soccer, small-sided games, coached scrimmages, and a mini tournament play.
