Registration Notes

Unfortunately, Freestate Sports Arena has recently been sold, and the indoor soccer fields are being removed. This leaves us without a home for our games, and it is highly unlikely that we will be able to find a place to play in time for our winter/spring session this year. I will be searching for a new home for our games.

If and when I find a new home, I will send out a bulk email through the Emmorton website. So, please make sure you have an account and subscribed to emails.

  1. Registration will be on-line at www.emmortonrec.com from September 7th (1 AM) to November 30th (11 PM).
  2. Please see below for birth date ranges of each age group.
  3. Registration cost will be $100 per player.
  4. Sign up early, space will be limited. If you do not see your child's age group listed, it is most likely full at the moment, but you can email Tony Steimel at [email protected] for further instruction.
  5. PLEASE volunteer to coach, we can't do this without you. Email Tony Steimel at [email protected] if you are interested. Include your full name, email address, phone number, and the gender/age group(s) in the email.
  6. Current or past club/travel players are welcome, but please identify this during the on-line registration process.
  7. Teammate and coaching requests can be stated during the on-line registration process, but understand these are not guaranteed.
  8. Please review all information in this web page.
  9. We do not allow children to "play down" into the next lower age group.
  10. If your child has above average ability and you would like him/her to "play up" into the next higher age group, please email Tony Steimel at [email protected] with the request.
  11. Coaches will be trying to contact parents via email and/or phone to introduce themselves approximately one month prior to our first game (2/14/2021).
  12. All games are played on Sunday afternoons on February 14, 21, 28, March 7, 14, 21, 28, April 11. There are no preseason or season practices. There will be no games on Easter weekend (4/4/2021).
  13. It's not guaranteed, but U6 groups usually play from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, U8 groups from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, U10 groups from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and the U12/U15 groups from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Every attempt will be made to provide advance notice for games canceled due to inclement weather.  If Freestate Sports Arena elects to close, then we have no other choice then to cancel our games.  The ERC Indoor Soccer board members may elect to cancel games eventhough the Freestate Sports Arena stays open.  For weather updates visit both the www.freestatesports.com "weather box" and this section of our indoor soccer page.

Because we play in Baltimore County and the facility that we play at, we do NOT go by any notifications from either Baltimore County Parks and Recreation or Harford County Parks and Recreation.
 

Age Groups (2020):

 

Under 6 (Coed) - Birth Date Range 1/1/2016 to 12/31/2017
A teaching oriented group with lots of coaching interaction and scrimmages. For scrimmages, coaches are on the field for direction and positioning.

Under 8 (Girls or Boys) - Birth Date Range 1/1/2014 to 12/31/2015
For games, coaches are on the field for direction and positioning, along with a referee. Format for the games will be 7 v 7.

Under 10 (Girls or Boys) - Birth Date Range 1/1/2012 to 12/31/2013
For games, only a referee will be on the field with the players. Format for the games will be 7 v 7.

Under 12 (Girls or Boys) - Birth Date Range 1/1/2010 to 12/31/2011
For games, a pair of referees will be on the field with the players. Format for the games will be 7 v 7.

Under 15 (Girls or Boys) - Birth Date Range 1/1/2007 to 12/31/2009
For games, a pair of referees will be on the field with the players. Format for the games will be  7 v 7.

2.  Fields:

Field #1 - Boys and Girls Under 12 and Under 15
Field #2 - Boys and Girls Under 10
Field #3 - Boys and Girls Under 6 and Under 8

3.  Picture Day is ??/??/2022. Individual photos will be taken 30 minutes prior to your game time. Team photo will be taken just prior to the game.

4.  Each player must have soft soled shoes (no cleats), shin pads, soccer socks, and shorts.  Team shirts will be provided on the first day.  Jewelry is not allowed.

5.  The season is comprised of eight (8) Sunday afternoons. There are no practices prior to the season. There are no tournaments or trophies at the end of the season.

6.  All Emmorton Recreation Council adult volunteers working with children in an Emmorton Rec program must select the following link and submit their information for a Back Ground Check:  https//opportunities.averity.com/emmortonrec
