Become a Coach

The SBAA wants to provide the best possible coaches for our athletes. The SBAA board mission is to find the most technically qualified and competent coaches to provide the athletes the best possible learning experience and opportunity for improvement.

The SBAA board is looking for adults to help as coaches, assistant coaches or team parents. The goal of the SBAA program is to provide all students with a positive athletic experience while teaching the fundamentals of each specific sport. The SBAA mission is to stress the teaching of good sportsmanship, as well as the Christian values of respect, generosity, honesty and fairness.  Interested parents, adults and college students, should apply by using the link under the Volunteers page (if no child is registering) or under the Volunteers step of the Athlete Registration process (if child is registering).

CONCUSSION TRAINING

Ohio law now requires all head coaches, assistant coaches and referees to complete a Concussion workshop. There are various courses that meet the requirements. The SBAA recommends the free NFHS online course located here.

VIRTUS TRAINING

In accordance with the policies of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, all employees, volunteers and coaches associated with the children of the Catholic Church or schools MUST be VIRTUS trained. This training is designed to increase the public awareness about child sexual abuse, and to try to provide adults with the knowledge and tools they need to help prevent and, if necessary, to respond appropriately to child sexual abuse.
