The U11G Colorado Champions participate in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) "Walk for a Cure" race benefiting the research for a cure of Type 1 diabetes. The team also raised money for JDRF and has already collected $225.00. A member of the Colorado Champions team was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at a very young age. She has to have 150 shots a month just to remain healthy and checks her blood sugar every few hours daily. She hopes that someday soon researchers will find a cure for Type 1 diabetes. Thanks to the Colorado Champions and their efforts in raising awareness about Type 1 diabetes and money to benfit JDRF, this dream is a little closer.
