Backgrounds on the Coaches:

Coach Pete is a Carlsbad native, and participated in Little League & High School Baseball playing infield, outfield and pitching. He has assisted as a hitting coach with Vista National Little League for what they call the TOC (Tournament of Champions). He has been involved with CYB for the past 5 years coaching and managing, including the CYB All Stars. Currently, he has a 7 year old son who is playing in the Pinto Division and is on the CYB All Stars.

Coach Chris is a senior scientist with a start-up biotech company, PharmAkea Therapeutics. He played baseball for 15 years on several Babe Ruth/American Legion teams who were in the state finals in Kansas. At Beloit College, he was a pitcher and outfielder. He was an umpire in Iowa City for the regional high school league, and he has been coaching in CYB (and briefly in LCYO) for the past 5 years. He currently sits on the CYB Board as President. He has two boys who play in CYB Pinto and Mustang divisions, and is also coaching the CYB All Stars with Coach Pete.

8u Stingers

The Stingers are a 8U Club Team. This team is coached by Pete Lopez, Chris King, and Paul Faulkner who have over 60 years of playing and coaching experience between them. If your child is interested in baseball, accelerating his/her learning, and meeting new friends, then we encourage you to contact us.

This Spring will be focused on baseball fundamentals in practice. Practices will be at twice a week. We will play in the Home Run for Chelsea, Halloweend and President's Day Tournament (2016).

Upfront costs are $250, which gets the Team field time, insurance, equipment and uniforms (hats/shirts only). Tournament fees could be extra, but we are hoping that with 12 or so players, we should be able to cover those in the fees. The coaches are NOT paid FYI, and we will always be looking for help on the field.
