The Colorado Storm is pleased to
announce the hiring of David Dir as the Club's new President/Executive
Director.
David’s resume is very impressive with extensive
soccer coaching and business operations experience. David worked at all levels of soccer from the
youth club level to professional and even international levels.
David was the first employee of the MLS
where he helped form the league as its original head of player personnel. David has also coached at the MLS level. He became one of the first MLS head coaches
and led the Dallas Burn (now FC Dallas) from 1996-2001, where he won the 1997
U.S. Open Cup and ranks 8th all-time in MLS head coaching wins. After leaving Dallas, David worked as an
Assistant Coach for the U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team from 2002-2011, helping
in the development of many MLS and United States National Team players.
David has many connections to the Denver
area, having been the head coach and vice president of the Colorado Foxes from
1991-1994 and the head coach of the Regis University men’s soccer team from
1990-1991.
Along with his professional and
international background David also has extensive experience running youth clubs as he founded and was Executive
Director of ASG Futbol Club in Dallas for 10+ years.
David’s
past experience makes him an ideal candidate to lead Colorado Storm. In his own
words, “For 30 years I have been involved in every aspect and level of the game
in this country. I bring a unique
understanding of how to balance the soccer side and the business side which
will be vital in leading this club forward.”
The Board of Directors feels very
fortunate to retain someone of David’s experience as the President /Executive
Director of Colorado Storm and looks forward to his leadership as we strive to
be the premier youth soccer club in the region.
