CYB Baseball Fields

Carlsbad Youth Baseball games are played on baseball fields in several different locations in north Carlsbad. For directions & descriptions of all Carlsbad public facilities, including ball fields, see Carlsbad's Facility Finder.


Aviara Community Park

Aviara Park and athletic fields, located at the corner of Poinsettia Lane and Ambrosia Lane, completed construction in late 2005, and provide an excellent new facility in which Bronco and Pony Division games can be played. Lighting is provided to allow night baseball play. The distance to the outfield fences is approximately 275'.

Bradley Park (San Marcos)

William R. Bradley Park is used by the San Marcos Pony League. In some seasons, CYB participates in interleague play with San Marcos, with games at this facility. The facility is equipped with lights and a full-service snack bar.

Calavera Park

Calavera Park, located at the intersection of Carlsbad Village Drive and Tamarack, consists of 1 baseball field at the north end of the park utilized by the Pony and Bronco leagues. Calavera Park Field 3 is an excellent field with lighting provided to allow night baseball play.

Chase Field

Chase Field, located in the Barrio section of Carlsbad Village, consists of 3 baseball fields utilized by the Pinto, Mustang, and Bronco leagues. Chase Fields 1-3 are excellent fields with lighting provided to allow night baseball play. Field dimensions are approximately 175' from home plate to fence. A full service snack bar is provided.

Jefferson Elementary School Field

Jefferson Fields are located in the back of Jefferson Elementary School which is on the corner of Jeffereson Street and Tamarack Blvd, just west of Hwy 5. 

Ingold Fields (Fallbrook)

Ingold Fields is used by the Fallbrook Pony League. In some seasons, CYB participates in interleague play with Fallbrook, with games at this facility. The facility is equipped with lights and a full-service snack bar.

Leo Mullen Sports Park (Encinitas)

Leo Mullen Sports Park is used by the San Dieguito Pony League. In some seasons, CYB participates in interleague play with San Dieguito, with games at this facility.

Paul Ecke Sports Park (Encinitas)

Ecke Field is used by the San Dieguito Pony League. In some seasons, CYB participates in interleague play with San Dieguito, with games at this facility. Ecke field is equipped with lights for night play.

Pine Field

Pine Field, located in the Barrio section of Carlsbad Village, consists of 1 baseball field utilized by the Mustang and Bronco leagues. Pine is an excellent new field with lighting provided to allow night baseball play. Field dimensions can be varied using portable fencing up to approximately 300' from home plate to fence. Pine field is equipped wtih artificial turf. Metal spikes, food and drink (except water and gatorade) are prohibited.

Poinsettia Park

Poinsettia 1: Poinsettia 1 is an excellent field with lighting provided to allow night baseball play. This field is used for Pony and Colt Play. This field is considered to be an "open" field as fences are located 350' from home plate in left and right fields and approximately 400' to center field.

Poinsetia 2: Poinsettia 2 is an excellent field with lighting provided to allow night baseball play. Field dimensions are approximately 275' from home plate to fence. This field is utilized for Bronco play.

Safety Center Field

Safety Center Field is a temporary field being provided by the City of Carlsbad for use by CBY in 2005, while Pine Field is under construction. The field will be upgraded for usability for practices and games by the Pony and Bronco Divisions.

ZONE 5 Faraday Field

(Faraday at Camino Hills; create link with directions) Zone 5 Field is used by the La Costa Youth Organization (LCYO). In some seasons, CYB participates in interleague play with LCYO, with games at this facility.

Lincoln Middle School Field

(151 Escondido Ave, Vista, CA 92084) Lincoln Middle School is used by the Vista Organization. In some seasons, CYB participates in interleague play with Vista, with games at this facility.

Mission Sports Park

931 Bailey Ct, San Marcos, CA 92069. East on 78; exit on Las Posas Rd (north); about 1/4 mile to Armorlite, turn right; about 1/2 mile to Bingham Drive, turn left, follow to end of cul-de-sac where the parking lot will be on the right side (approx 20 minute drive time from Carlsbad).

Rules & Conditions of Field Use
These are the rules and conditions for your organization to follow when using fields scheduled and/or maintained by the City of Carlsbad Parks and Recreation Departments. Portions of your deposit will be deducted if these rules and regulations are not adhered to.

The athletic fields are for the entire community to enjoy.

  • Be sure to remove any equipment from fields when use is finished.
  • Pick up trash on the fields, in the dugouts, bleachers, and restrooms. If extra trash bags are needed, check the storage facility, or call the appropriate community center staff.
  • Vehicles are prohibited on any turf area unless given special permission from the Parks Department.
  • Call Musco Lighting to have lights turned off for canceled practices or games, or early departure from athletic fields.
  • Backstops or chain link fencing shall not be used for practicing pitching or batting.
  • Be sure to lock up snack bar facility, restrooms, or gated field sites if a key has been issued.
  • Rotate practice areas to prevent excessive wear and tear on fields.
  • Comply with all field closure schedules and closures due to inclement weather.
