Register to play the world's most popular sport!

Recreational soccer has two seasons. The spring season runs from April to June with registration from January through March. The fall season runs from September to November with registration from May through August. All kids are guaranteed to play at least half of every game in recreational soccer.

Ages 2 & 3

Soccer Score and More
This is an opportunity for two-year-olds to play soccer while incorporating other forms of body movement, socialization, and fun through dance, song, etc. at each practice. The class will introduce a few basic soccer skills as well as incorporate other non-soccer related activities to increase engagement and participation. The main goal is to get children moving and having fun! An adult will be required to stay with the child the duration of the practice to assist with skill work and behavior management. Each practice will be 35 minutes long. Child must be 2 years old by Oct. 1. There will be one session per week. Registration fee includes jersey.

Junior Mites
This is an opportunity for three-year-olds to play soccer while incorporating other forms of body movement, socialization, and fun through dance, song, etc. at each practice. The class is designed to introduce a love for the sport of soccer by demonstrating basic skills, as well as incorporate other non-soccer related activities to increase engagement and participation. An adult will be required to stay with their child during the skill portion of the practice to assist with skill work and behavior management. Each practice will be 45 minutes. By the end of the 8 week course, the goal will be to build up stamina to include a 30 minute practice followed by a 15 minute “game-like” session. Child must be 3 years old by Oct. 1. There will be one session per week. Registration fee includes jersey.

Pre-K (Mitey Mites, Age 4) - 4th Grade

Youth age 4 through 4th grade participate on teams within the ABGC.  The minimum age for participation is four years old.

  • Pre-kindergarteners (Mitey Mites) and Kindergarteners play with 4 players on the field without a goalie
  • First grade has 5 players on the field, including a goalie
  • 2nd graders, 6 players
  • 3rd graders, 7 players
  • 4th graders, 8 players
Every player is guaranteed playing time of at least half the game. Mitey Mites and Kindergarten are co-ed; there are boys' divisions and girls' divisions for the other ages. Teams are formed geographically when possible. Practices are once per week. Parents may request that their child play with particular persons and/or coaches. The registration fee does not include the cost of the uniform. Players who are "young" for their grade level may request to play with the next lower grade teams if the player's age falls within the usual age for that grade level.

A Soccer Festival for all players ages Pre-K through 2nd grade is usually held at the end of the season on the artificial turf field at Mason District Park.

There is a commissioner who oversees each age division. All teams at these ages practice one hour once a week and have a Saturday game weekly. Occasionally, there will be a Sunday game. Uniforms are purchased through the ABGC office.

All-Stars

Coaches select the better Annandale players to participate in this program at the end of each season.

All Star players participate in the All Star Tournaments which are held in November and June, following the regular season.

Recreation Soccer - U11 to U19

The Annandale Boys & Girls Club (ABGC) teams for ages U11-U19 play in the umbrella group of Suburban Friendship League (SFL), a recreational league of which ABGC was a founding member. A player must register for a specific age group, although a player can always choose to play "up" with older players.

Important Note: Travel Soccer players cannot register for U11 to U19 recreation soccer.

SFL age groups can be found by clicking on the following link: age chart.

Each player signs up with ABGC. Fall Preliminary Rosters are turned into the SFL in mid-August; returning players to a team have priority until August 1. Spring rosters are turned into SFL in mid-March; returning players have priority until March 1.
