SAN GABRIEL & ROSEMEAD AYSO SOCCER - REGION 40

Coach Training

Thank you for volunteering to coach a team for AYSO Region 40. Your time and support to the region and the children is greatly appreciated. Below are 3 simple mandatory steps to complete the process of becoming a volunteer coach. These steps are designed to ensure the safety of both players and volunteers, and give you age appropriate knowledge and skills to become effective positive coaches. Many of these steps can be performed online in just a few hours of your time.

Step # 1: Log on to eayso.org and complete a volunteer application for the 2014 program year.  All new and returning AYSO volunteers must complete a volunteer application every year. Remember to sign your volunteer form using the online esignature tool. By completing an online volunteer form you will receive an AYSO ID # which will allow you to complete the next steps.

Step # 2: Write down your AYSO ID # and visit the aysotraining.org site to complete the online Safe Haven Course and the recommended online Concussion Training. Both courses take about 40 minutes and you will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the training.

Step # 3: Complete a Live Age Appropriate Coach Course. If you have questions about certification please contact your divisional coordinator.  If you cannot make the Region 40 classes, your divisional coordinator can help you find a course within the area.

Please note: coaches only need to complete Step #2 and Step #3 if you have not already completed them.

Coaches are essential to the game. They teach children soccer skills and help develop positive attitudes, teamwork and good sportsmanship. Coaching is a rewarding experience because you have the opportunity to build a child's self-esteem, help them learn new skills and just have a lot of fun.

Thank you again on behalf of Region 40 for volunteering your time and remember AYSO runs on volunteer power from coaches like you.
