Conrad Hamilton

Head Coach


The 2014 football season will serve as Conrad’s 9th season as a High School football coach, but first as the Varsity Head Football Coach at Chaparral. The administration, players, boosters and fans excitedly look forward to Coach Hamilton's inaugural campaign. Coach Hamilton has held various titles and roles throughout his coaching tenure, including Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, Strength and Conditioning Coach and Defensive Coordinator.  Conrad earned his Bachelors of Science from Eastern New Mexico University, where he was a two time All-American and Lone Star Conference Defensive Back of the year recipient.  Coach Hamilton was inducted into ENMU’s Athletic Hall of Fame, and recently was honored by his alma mater in retiring his “#13” jersey.  Conrad’s extensive football background also includes a 6 year career as a professional football player in the National Football League.  He was selected in the 7th round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the NY Giants where he played Cornerback from 1996 -2000, and finished his career with the Atlanta Falcons in 2001.  The Hamilton family consists of Conrad, his wife Leah, his son Jordin , and daughters Kaysia, Isabella, Abiah and Maliah

Mike Angelone
Assistant Head Coach


Coach Mike Angelone returns to the Chaparral Varsity staff for his 15th year of coaching. After having been a parent, Booster Board member, Freshman head Coach, Varsity position Coach, and Varsity Defensive Coordinator on the Chaparral staff, he returns to Coach Hamilton's staff following his 2013 "final" year at Chaparral in order to assist Coach Hamilton with his Head Coaching responsibilities and lead the JV in their game day endeavors. Coach Angelone is a retired New York City fireman and has been coaching Baseball and Football since 1975. He is married to his wife Cathy and has lived in the Chaparral school district for 20 years. He has four children: Nick, Valerie, Raquel and Gabby. Nick was an integral part of Chaparral’s first State Championship Team in 1999 and went on to play with a full scholarship under Coach Tubby Raymond at the University of Delaware.

Paul Germinaro

Offensive Line Coach

Coach Germinaro is a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. After high school he attended NAU and ASU, and continued his playing career at the semi-pro level in Arizona. This will be Coach Germinaro’s 12th year coaching High School football. Coach Germinaro has coached at Bourgade High School and at Arcadia High School as the Varsity Offensive & Defensive Line Coach. He joined the Chaparral Coaching Staff in 2010 as the Freshman Offensive Coordinator and Line Coach, subsequently transitioning to the Freshman Head Coach position were he accumulated an impressive 27-3 record. He works for the City of Scottsdale as the Youth Sports Coordinator and has been married to his loving wife Sarah for twelve years; together they have two sons, Coleman and Lukas.

Dave Isenberg

Wide Receivers


Dave Isenberg is entering his 9th season as wide receivers coach for the Firebirds and was part of the state championship staff in 2009, 2010, and 2011. He also teaches English on campus to sophomores and seniors. Before he was at Chaparral, he taught English and coached football and baseball at Moon Valley High School in Phoenix. He coached football there with Charlie Ragle and Dave Huffine and won a state championship in 2004. Coach Isenberg earned his B.A. at University of Arizona in 1994, received his teaching certification at Northern Arizona University in 1997, and earned his Masters in Teaching through Grand Canyon University in 2006. Dave is originally from New Jersey but grew up in Tucson and attended Sabino High School. Dave has been married for two years to his lovely wife Erin.

Andrew Kahn

Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers


Coach Kahn was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Harriton High School in Rosemont, PA where he was an all-league inside linebacker. He graduated from Arizona State University in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Coach Kahn taught 6th grade in Phoenix for 6 years. He is currently a marketing representative in North Scottsdale. This is his 3rd year on the Firebirds coaching staff, previously serving as the Outside Linebackers Coach.  Previously he coached inside linebackers at North Canyon High School with Coach Hamilton. Before his High School experience Andrew coached football at the youth level for 3 years. Coach Kahn is looking forward to helping the Chaparral Firebirds achieve greatness during the 2014 football season. 

Dubois Gilliam

Defensive Backs


Coach Gilliam is entering his 3rd season as a coach at Chaparral where he assists in the defensive secondary with a focus on the safeties. Dubois was raised in McLean,VA until high school when his family moved to Selma, AL.  While attending Selma High School Coach Gilliam played football under Alabama High School and College Football Hall of Famer Woodrow Lowe. Coach Gilliam went on to play safety in the Southeastern Conference at Auburn University (War Eagle!) under Coach Terry Bowden and legendary Defensive Coordinator Bill "Brother" Oliver. Coach Gilliam graduated from Auburn in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics. After college Coach Gilliam moved to Washington, DC  where he worked on Capitol Hill as a Legislative Aide for former United States Senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania before moving to Arizona with his wife who is a native Arizonan.  Coach Gilliam is in his 4th year of coaching high school football here in the valley, and  currently works as a Resource Delivery Manager for an Information Technology consulting firm in Scottsdale.  He is married to Alisha Gilliam and they have 5 children (4 girls and 1 boy).

Steve Williams

Defensive Line


Coach Williams is excited to enter his 5th year of coaching with the Firebirds. Originally from Buffalo, New York, he grew up in a military family and traveled throughout the country eventually settling down in San Angelo, TX. He attended San Angelo Central High School where he was a decorated running back for the Bobcats. Following a successful high school career, Coach Williams was recruited to play college football for Eastern New Mexico University; while at ENMU Coach Williams was a two time all Lone Star Conference player for the Greyhounds. After graduating and receiving his degree in Telecommunications he enjoyed a successful career in Sales/Recruiting in the IT staffing industry. Coach Williams has been happily married to his lovely wife Vivian for 17 years, they have 3 children, Arianna, Tre and Jared.
