Mount Vernon Soccer Association is pleased to welcome back Sting Academy this spring. This 5-week skill development soccer program for players with birth years 2015–2017 will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday nights, April 18 – May 16, 2023.
The Academy aims to create a fun learning environment for your player’s individual skill development in dribbling, passing, shooting and finishing, speed and agility, positioning, and game play.
Academy format:
- 15 minutes of warmups and ball touches
- 25 minutes of skill-based games
- 20 minutes of small-sided scrimmages
Sting Academy will be directed by U.S. Soccer-Licensed Coach (and beloved Sting Coach) Sarah Ballmer, who has nearly a decade of experience coaching youth soccer.
Cost: $50: includes choice of jersey or ball for kids who register by April 1.

ABOUT STING: MVSA Sting is a competitive club soccer organization with more than 20 years of experience training elite soccer players in Knox County and the surrounding areas in development for high school soccer and beyond. Our girls and boys teams train with experienced, U.S. Soccer-licensed coaches 2–4 days per week at Mount Vernon’s beautiful Community Fields complex and travel throughout Central Ohio to challenge top competition in the Ohio Champions League and Central Ohio Premiere League.
