Academy U7-U11

Tryouts

Free player evaluations are conducted each May. Unlike our Recreational soccer league, the Academy team has limited roster spots, and so equal playing time is not guaranteed. Interested players must attend the annual tryouts in order to qualify for the team.

2024 - 2025 Academy Tryouts

Who: Children born between 2014-2018

When: Mon. May 20 & Tues. May 21 from 6:00pm - 7:30pm

Where: Summey Park (Forest City Dunbar School)

Attendees must have shin guards, soccer ball and soccer cleats to tryout. Players also need to bring water

Academy Fall 2024 & Spring 2025

The Foothills FC Academy program is for players that are U7 - U11. This program is designed as a basic introduction to competitive soccer. The players are trained by Academy Staff which have age appropriate coaching qualifications. Academy Program philosophy is to emphasize player development over team development and focus on the technical development of each child without the pressures of short-term wins/losses/results. Our Academy coaches have significant coaching and playing experience and a passion to share their skills with the children of Rutherford County.

Our Academy players will practice two days per week with a qualified coach and will usually play two games on Saturdays (depending on scheduling, we may only have one game for some game days.) By signing up for an Academy team, you are committing for both Fall and Spring seasons with your team. Fall practices begin in September, and Spring practices start in February. Home games will be played at ICC.

About the Program

Academy is the most competitive U7-U11 soccer program offered by RCSA. The goal of the Academy Program is to improve individual skills through high-level training and a more challenging playing environment led by dedicated coaches.

Academy coaches have significant coaching experience, playing experience, and a passion to share their skills with the children of Rutherford County. Our coaches are focused on player development.

Our Academy Program consists of two seasons. The first-half of the program runs from mid August and goes through mid November. The second-half runs from March and ends in May. Academy teams practice twice a week for 90 minute sessions.

Foothills FC Academy Fee

The Foothills FC fees are due when you accept a roster spot.

The price per player for Academy consists of the cost of the uniform, coach's pay, state fees, referee fees, tournament fee (1), field maintenance, NCYSA registration and insurance.
