Amherst Athletic Association Challenge Coin

What it all means...

This year the Amherst Athletic Association is starting a new tradition. These coins were minted to commemorate the individuals who demonstrate the four pillars, Integrity, Teamwork, Character, & Courage, in which we strive to achieve as an Association.  Coin's are presented through nomination of an individual whom represented these values which in doing so, has impacted our organization and/or community.

Challenge Coin Recipients

#11 Coin - Brian Drop - Girls Softball Coach
To honor the 11 years he has helped coach his daughter Kate's teams. On behalf of AAA, thanks Brian for all the hours and years dedicated to softball.
We couldn't do it without parents like you!

#12 Coin - Liam Puhalla - 9u Comets Team
After an Amherst Comets 9U game, one of our team moms had a medical emergency in the parking lot. Liam was the only person who saw her. He immediately checked on her, recognized there was a problem, and ran to get help. Fortunately, the mom is doing fine. We are very proud of Liam and his quick thinking skills, his courage and character. He has truly represented himself, his family, his team and the AAA in the best way possible. We are proud to have Liam as a member of our community and organization!

#13 Coin - Pete Bailey - Girls Softball Coach

Pete is one of the most selfless coaches I have ever had the pleasure of coaching against. Over the past 8 years, Pete has coached 13 of his two daughter's teams.
In reminiscing yesterday, he was quick to say he would do it all again. Pete exemplifies everything that AAA stands for and we are grateful to have him apart of the
Association
!

#31 Coin - Olivia McGrath - Youth Umpire
Olivia is one of our 2020 umpires who has successfully completed a formal umpire certification program. She has been flexible, accommodating and 100% present. We have recieved positive feedback from all of Olivia's peers and coaches. Being an umpire requires the utmost integrity, character and courage. Olivia truly has represented herself, her family, the umpiring team, the AAA and the community in the best way possible.
