Boys Coaching Staff


 

Originally from Downingtown, Pa., Connor Keenan, played collegiate soccer at Lycoming College. After college, Keenan has spent time on the coaching staff at Lycoming College before becoming an assistant at Catholic University.

During his playing and coaching career at the collegiate level, Keenan was a part of two MAC Conference Championship teams and two NCAA Tournament teams. He currently coaches Stoddert’s Boys U15 and U16 Red Metros and holds a USSF D License and Advanced National Diploma.



 

Erwin Diaz is a Washington, D.C. native who played for University of Maryland. During his time at Maryland, he won an ACC Championship and was part of the 2005 NCAA Championship squad. Diaz played for the U20 National team and was part of the U17 US Youth National Team for the U17 World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago.

Diaz played professionally in Spain for two years before returning to the DMV. He has over 10 years of coaching experience, and holds his USFF D Coaching License. He currently coaches DC Stoddert’s Boys U9 and U10 Red Metros and is pursuing his USSF C License.

 
  Efrain Viana is originally from El Salvador and grew up in Gaithersburg, Md. where he played soccer through high school.

Viana has 10 years of coaching experience between Darryl Gee Soccer Academy, Rockville SportsPlex, High Performance Soccer Club, and DC Stoddert Soccer.

Viana has his USSF D Coaching License and is working towards obtaining his USSF C Coaching License. Viana currently coaches DC Stoddert’s Boys U13 and U14 White Metros.


 

Tommy Wasley has coached in the D.C. area for over 12 years. In that time, he was an Assistant Coach at Marymount University for 10 years, where he also played during his college career. At Marymount, Wasley earned the James Shelton Award, All-Academic and Coaches Award.

He holds his USSF B license, and is working toward a Masters Degree in Exercise Science, while working with the U9 and U10 Boys White Teams.



 

Iain Langstone is originally from Evesham, England, but moved to the United States to study a four year degree and play college soccer at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. While at SRU as a player, Langstone won 2 PSAC Conference Championships and reached the NCAA tournament sweet-sixteen on two occasions.

He has 14 years of club and college coaching experience. Langstone currently coaches Stoddert’s Boys U15 and U16 Blue Metros. He has his USSF C Coaching License, GK Level 1 Diploma, is a Certified Injury Prevention Specialist and holds a Master’s degree in Coaching Education from Ohio University.

He is working to complete his USSF B Coaching License in 2019.

 

Kenny Owens, who is originally from Washington, D.C., played college soccer at Georgetown University.

Owens was a stand-out player and during his time at with the Hoyas and served asTeam Captain while also being named an All-American. Owens played for the United States U18 and U20 National Teams.

He has over ten years of coaching experience and a USSF C Coaching License. He currently coaches DC Stoddert’s Boys U9 and U10 Blue Metros.

 



Kevin Rivera was born and raised in Washington, D.C. and was team captain at Woodrow Wilson High School in his final season. He then went on to play collegiate soccer at Louisburg college.

After his time as Louisburg, Rivera played for Capital City FC in the Washington Premier League. He started his coaching career at 13 years old when he was a Soccer Counselor for National Capital Soccer Academy.

He currently holds a US Youth Soccer National Youth License, and USSF D Coaching License and coaches Stoddert’s Boys U11 and U12 White Metros.


 

Matt Thompson, who serves as the Boys High School Age Group Director, came to the United States from England in 1994 and played collegiate soccer at Slippery Rock University. Following his playing career Thompson pursued coaching and is the current coach at the University of the District of Columbia. In 2017, Thompson led the Firebirds to their most successful season in program history by advancing to the NCAA Division II Tournament Second Round.



Mohamed Bennani is originally from Casablanca, Morocco where he played professional soccer. Bennani has 19 years of coaching experience with DC Stoddert Soccer.

Coach Bennani has USSF A License, National Youth License and DOC diploma. He was awarded Virginia Youth Soccer Association Coach of the Year Award in 2004 and 2013. Bennani currently coaches DC Stoddert’s Boys U13 and U14 Blue Metros.






Hailing from Scotland, Scott Currie played college soccer in the United States at Alderson Broaddus University.

In 2008 at Alderson Broaddus, Currie was named to the WVIAC All-Conference team and led his school to a conference championship. After his collegiate career, Currie returned to Scotland and played for Blantyre Victoria Juniors FC and Airdrie United FC.

Currie has 12 years of coaching experience in the Mid-Atlantic region. He currently coaches Stoddert’s Boys U11 Red and U12 Red Metros and has his USSF B Coaching License, National Youth License, Scottish FA C License,  and Scottish FA Coaching In The Game Certificate.



A native Virginian, Travis Beauchamp played college soccer at Washington College in Maryland.

Beauchamp has 20 total years of coaching experience which include 12 years as a Head Coach of the men’s soccer team at Catholic University. As the Head Coach at Catholic, Beauchamp has 127 wins, three conference championships, four NCAA Tournament appearances, and has twice been named Conference Coach of the Year.

He currently holds his United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma and USSF C Coaching License and coaches Stoddert’s Boys U17 Blue and Red Metros.
