2019 EPYSA Challenge Cup (BU11)

The SCCSA Dragons '08 (BU11) Boys saved perhaps their best game of the year for the State Cup finals beating a tough, physical Brandywine FC team 4-0. Brandywine FC came out strong but the Dragon defense eventually took over the game and some brilliant goals followed shortly leaving the Dragons with a 3-0 halftime lead. The objective of the second half was to win five minutes at a time and again after a slow start the boys applied their tremendous skills and game savvy eventually leading to the fourth goal and a State Cup Championship. The Dragons had to win 7 games to take the title outscoring their opponents 37-4 and shutting out five of their seven opponents.

All of us at SCCSA would like to wish the SCCSA Dragons '08 (BU11) the best of luck in their EPYSA Challenge State Cup Championship game (Saturday, June 1, 2019- 12:30 PM, PA Classic Park- Field 8A).  The team started off their EPYSA State Cup run by winning their round robin group by scores of 3-0, 9-0 and 6-0. They then moved to the knock out phase winning their round of 16 game 4-0 over YMS. They proceeded to beat the Dillsburg FC Fury in the quarterfinals by a score of 7-1 giving up their first goal in 5 games. Finally the Dragons faced an athletic Springfield FC squad in the semifinals in an exciting back and forth struggle scoring the winning goal with about a minute left in the game to win 4-3. The boys are extremely excited and biting at the lips to play Brandywine FC in the finals on Saturday.  Best of luck to the players, coaches, and supporters in what will surely be an exciting final! Let's cheer them on to bring the cup home to SCCSA!
