U4 - U19 Rec Program Overview

Southern Soccer Academy’s Recreational Program is a developmental soccer program that provides an opportunity for both boys and girls from under 4 (4U) through under 19 (19U) years old to play soccer, regardless of ability and experience – there are no tryouts. Although healthy competition is a natural part of any sport, the primary focus of this program is on player development. Southern Soccer Academy provides players of all ages a fun, purposeful, and challenging environment for each player to have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.

Fun with a purpose is a simple way to look at SSA recreational soccer. If it's not 'fun', players will not want to play, but it has to be purposeful in order to develop players to their fullest potential. At Southern Soccer Academy, players are immersed in an environment that promotes their development of three key areas:

1) Soccer-Specific Skills - development of physical, technical, psychological, and tactical components of soccer
2) Life Skills and Core Values – learn to interact with other children and peers, solve problems, make decisions, demonstrate respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship, and leadership
3) Health and Fitness - be active in a safe and fun soccer environment

Recreational Staff:
• Shin guards are required
• Soccer cleats are required, no baseball, softball, or football cleats permitted
• Water bottle is recommended
