Leigh Valley Baseball League

Prospective players and parents:  Experience the love of baseball by playing for our summer team!

Our team is based in Freemansburg PA (Lehigh Valley, near Bethlehem) for college-age players 24 and under.  We are the Freemansburg Blue Barons, in the Premiere Division of the Lehigh Valley Baseball League.  We are looking for college-age players that are looking for a place to play this summer.  Too many good players who try to join teams in leagues like the Blue Mountain League find they don't get much opportunity to play because of long-established players on these teams.  We will be playing at Freemansburg's lighted field, with most of our games on Sundays and a few games during the week or on Saturdays.  Our season runs from Memorial Day thru July, with playoffs starting at the end of July.

The coach is Chuck Ciganick.  He has over 25 years experience as a coach the high school, legion and college level, played professional baseball, has coached at many baseball camps throughout the region (including Princeton University and Ripken baseball) and is a retired associate scout. We plan to run this team in a very professional way in order to make it as good of a playing opportunity as any area summer college team.  We have a very strong supporting organization behind us, and we already have a lot of interest.

Unlike summer collegiate leagues, this league is also open to graduating senior players who want to continue playing this summer.  They may still be interested in the opportunity of playing professionally in independent baseball. If the potential is there, the coach will make some contacts for that player.

Players can also email the Freemansburg Athletic Association at

A player can work off part of the playing fee by doing some work at Freemansburg AA baseball complex.  This includes work on the field or umpiring little league games.

The association website is handling sign-ups and also has more information.

You can contact Coach Chuck Ciganick, Head Coach and Director of Baseball, for further information.
