Charlotte Soccer Academy, Charlotte’s premier youth soccer organization, is offering players an outstanding opportunity to learn and develop specialized skills in leadership and communication. Through instruction and training, selected players, referred to as “CSA Leaders”, will identify leadership strengths in themselves and others, learn and apply strategies for demonstrating leadership in team and group settings, examine communication techniques for interacting with coaches and teammates, discuss what it means to be a role model, and create and evaluate ways to meaningfully impact the broader community.  CSA Leaders helps prepare players to be successful leaders, both on and off the field, in athletic, academic, and professional pursuits.

Interested 13U-17U Competitive program players must complete an application and submit via email. Applications are due no later than Sunday, March 31, 2019, and must be signed by the player and parent.  Leaders will be selected from the pool of applicants based on their responses to application questions and coach feedback. Players and parents will be notified via email around the end of April about acceptance to the CSA Leaders program.

We are very proud of what the CSA Leaders program was able to accomplish in the 2018-2019 season.  Here’s a snapshot of the year, by the numbers:

-30 Leaders were admitted to the program

-25 Leaders attended the classroom training session in August 

-30 Leaders were invited to join the CSA Leaders TeamSnap group, which provided a forum for ongoing distribution of inspirational messages and opportunities for reflection about communication and leadership.  

-15 Leaders attended optional service project (making welcome letters, stationery, dining room table toppers, and door decorations) for the Ronald McDonald House - Charlotte.  

-10 Leaders were also able to participate in outreach by delivering the donations to RMH and participating in a tour of the facility.
