Garrett Pasono graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a Bachelors in Communications and minor in Spanish, as well as a Masters in Marketing Communications. Garrett has been involved in soccer for almost 20 years and has experienced the sport from all sides of the ball; through playing, reffing, and now coaching.
Playing Experience:
College
Garrett attended St. Bonaventure University from 2011-2015 and saw action right away in his freshman campaign, as well as throughout his career. That year, he was the only member of the team to play in every minute of every game.
He appeared and started in each of the 70 matches over his 4 years, and was a two time captain during his Junior and Senior seasons. In his junior year, he was voted 2nd-Team All Atlantic 10. As a defender, he scored 5 goals in his career, including 2 game winners. He was also named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll all four years.
Academy
Before attending St. Bonaventure, Garrett spent his senior season playing for the Empire United Development Academy team. He appeared and started in all 29 matches as a defender, and helped Empire win their division for the first time in club history, and lead them to the first ever appearance in the DA Playoffs.
Coaching Experience:
Before moving to Syracuse, Garrett coached at camps and clinics over the summer for 8 years straight. He has worked with numerous age groups, both boys and girls. Upon moving to Syracuse two and a half years ago, Garrett joined the Syracuse Fusion coaching staff, where he was the head coach for the 09/10 boys, as well as an assistant to Dan Kincaid on the 04/05 and 01/02 girls.
