Fun fact: I have met NBA basketball legend Allen Iverson... in Rock Hill!

Lead Counselor & CIT Coordinator

Lead Counselor & CIT Coordinator: Rachel Mengas
Hello! I will be the Lead Female Counselor and assist as the CIT Coordinator this summer! This will be my third summer working at ROAR. Over these past 2 summers, I’ve loved learning the best games and dances, seeing my coworkers get pied in the face, and seeing campers come to Christ! I love to study God's Word and teach others.  I cannot wait to see what the Lord does in each camper and staff member’s life this summer!

Basketball Coach

Coach Ed Addie
Learn the basics of basketball from Westminster Catawba Christian School Head Varsity Coach, Ed Addie. Coach Addie has coached youth and high school basketball for well over twenty years and has seen over 100 of his former players recruited to play at the NCAA DI (collegiate) level. A few even made it to the NBA. Prior to Coach Addie taking over the reigns of the Westminster Catawba basketball program in 2019, the varsity team had not had a winning record in the previous 6 years. In his first year WCCS went 20-5. This season (with the number of games played limited to Covid) WCCS is 15-2, achieved a #1 state ranking (Maxpreps)
in NCISAA, Class 2A, and advanced to the NCISAA State play-off quarterfinals. Students of all ages at WCCS love Coach Addie, who encourages the student-athletes who play for him to always bring their Christian faith into the game.

Dance Coach

Coach Christina Fargalla
Christina is a dancing queen!  She has served as our Dance Coach and has done an amazing job leading our dancers to both learn dance routines but learn to work together as a team.  For Christina the spotlight is not something for the kids to grasp.  What is most important is supporting one another and realizing what the team can do together.

I have always loved the church and doing things to bring me and others closer to the Lord. I have been involved in music and in teaching for most of my life. I believe God has gifted and called me to be able to impart knowledge to others and to do so in a way that is interesting and entertaining. All in all I have worked for a church for about 15 years and taught in schools for about 12. I have taught Science, Math, History, and Technology to grades 4 – 12 at various public and private schools in NC and SC. I am married with 5 grown children (plus all the children I have the joy of teaching every year).
