Spring Softball 2019


Registration: Registration for the spring season will begin in December and continue through late February. Late registration may be offered in March, depending on remaining openings on teams; late fees may be assessed.  Fees

Players Age: League Age is the players age as of December 31, 2018, see the softball registration chart for more information.

Practices: Practices are organized by the Head Coach with assistance from volunteer coaches and or team parents.  Recommended practice frequency is two-three times per week during the pre-season (starting in early March); and once per week (min) during the season.  Practices will be held at North Glens Athletic Fields unless otherwise stated.

Games: Teams will (on average) participate in two games per week during the regular season as determined by the North County Community Girls Softball League (NCCGSL).  Game schedules will be available at least one week prior to the start of game play.  Home games will be played at North Glens Athletic Fields while away contests will be played throughout Anne Arundel County and or PG County (Bowie).  For more information on the locations of away games you may visit NCCGSL's website and searching pages>members and locations.  

Season: The 10 week season typically begins around the middle of April and continues until the end of May for a total of 20 games. Depending on the age group and overall record of the team, playoffs may occur during the month of June. Dates will be made available on the NGSC Calendar as soon as they are provided to us by NCCGSL.

Player Equipment: Players are required to obtain and bring the following equipment with them to every practice and game.

REQUIRED: Softball Glove, Batting Helmet, Softball Bat, Water 
OPTIONAL: Softball Bag, Fielders Mask(highly recommended), Batting Gloves

general Expectations

Parents are expected to have their child at each practice and game on time, and communicate with team leadership when the child will be absent. 

Parents are STRONGLY encouraged to practice with their players at home to develop skills
