DC Stoddert Soccer's Futsal program takes place indoors, using rules specific to Futsal. Futsal is widely regarded as being extremely effective in emphasizing technical skills and encouraging smart, quick play. Play is fast and fun, and Futsal is a great way to continue your child’s soccer education, keep them moving during the Winter, and foster a fun competitive environment.
DC Stoddert Futsal combines league play with educational components, all within a 10 week program starting in December. Educational modules for teams (limited availability) will take place in early December, and league play starts in early January and runs for 8 weeks. Futsal is scheduled for Friday evenings (Maret School and *maybe* Wilson HS) and Saturday day matches (GDS Lower School, Maret School and Sidwell). Additional locations may be added or substituted.
Team roster sizes max out at 10 players (12 players max for grades 2, 3 and 4). All teams will play on full sized futsal courts. Coaches, bring your existing Fall teams, or combine players from different teams if needed! Spaces are limited, so sign up early to ensure your team will be able to play.
