Food Drive

IMPORTANT NOTE:  The MSI Food Drive will be conducted on Saturday, September 28, but will be limited to the MSI Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade Age groups!  We ask that each family in these age groups bring non-perishable canned or boxed foods in paper or plastic bags marked 'MSI FOOD DRIVE' to their playing field on game day and leave them a safe distance from the corner of the field closest to the parking lot, or other location as directed.  Additional information on how your family can donate or help out with transporting donations to Manna will be emailed to all MSI families in these age groups.

Why is the Fall 2019 Food Drive being limited in scope:  The scope of the MSI Food Drive for the Fall 2019 season is being significantly reduced, due to a couple of factors.  First, we have found that the amount of food being donated by the older age groups has dropped off to a trickle, making the trips by parents to deliver that food a bit unrewarding.  Second, it was our intent to heavily focus the Food Drive on the Julius West MS location, where so many teams were scheduled to play their games this weekend, and from where we would be able to collect all food and deliver directly to the Food Shelter without requiring further help from parents.  However, with the MCPS/City of Rockville lack of approval to open the fields for non-school use at this time, all those games have been forced to be relocated to disparate locations.  As a result, we are limiting the Food Drive to include only our Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade age groups.

Historic Language:
Saturday, ____, and Sunday, ____ and we are asking that EVERY MSI family make a donation. For more than two decades, MSI has conducted food drives each season and has provided tons of food to help Montgomery County families in need. We are committed to making this season’s food drive our most successful one yet. Please make an effort to get 100% participation from your team.
