Anthony Doherty

Anthony Doherty has joined Loveland Soccer as the Director of Player Development.  In this role he will direct the Loveland Soccer Academy and work with coaches across all parts of the soccer program to improve the quality and consistency of training.   


Anthony Doherty brings a depth of training and coaching experience to the Loveland Soccer program. He has trained recreational and select players from less than 5 years old to high school varsity players.  Over the past 4 years, Anthony has coached at over 75 camps in 15 states. 


Anthony was born in Manchester, UK where he excelled in soccer as a youth.  He began coaching soccer for the local clubs he grew up playing for.  After completing high school, Anthony obtained a level 3 National Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science in college. College gave Anthony the chance to gain valuable experience working as P.E. teacher for a year where he worked with kids aged 2-11 and started the school’s first soccer program and team.


Anthony then went to University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Coaching at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston. While at University Anthony volunteered his time as a performance video analyst with the professional soccer team, Blackburn Rovers, who at the time were in the Premier League.


Anthony began working for Challenger Sports in 2011 and was based in Atlanta for three years before coming to work for LYSA in 2014.  In 2015 Anthony was honored at Challenger Sports Coach of the Year for the Cincinnati region and Coach of the Year for the Midwest. In 2017 Challenger Sports promoted Anthony to a full-time management position recognizing his hard work on and off the field.
