Congratulations to Parsippany SC 2005G Academy Blue player Katerina (Katé) Loncar (pictured above and to the right) who was one of the 16 players selected to the GPS FC Bayern National Team Girls 2005 for the 2018 Season. The GPS FC Bayern National Team Program is comprised of the top players from throughout the GPS affiliates, all of whom have excelled in their own regional environment and previous National Team Events. Katé and the GPS FC Bayern National Team Girls 2005 will compete in the prestigious Gothia Cup in Sweden from July 25-21.
About the Gothia Cup:
Gothia Cup is the world’s largest and most international youth football tournament. Each year, around 1700 teams from 80 nations take part and they play 4500 games on 110 fields. This year’s Gothia Cup will be held from July 15-21, 2018, in Gothenburg, Sweden.

About the GPS FC Bayern National Team:
The GPS FC Bayern National Team Program aims to provide a professional soccer player experience to the Elite players within the GPS family. Players successfully admitted to the program will receive the highest standard of coaching, experience additional training centers and travel as a team to prestigious tournaments and events.
Who is it for?
The GPS FC Bayern National Team Program will identify players, boys and girls, from U13-U18, who will take part to regional selection events. These will represent the first step of the selection process to the National Team. The GPS FC Bayern National Team will comprise the best players from all GPS franchises and affiliate clubs across the country who have excelled in their own regional environment. Players should exhibit exemplary work ethic, commitment and have an excellent technical and tactical base.
Selection Process:
At the start of the season, players will be nominated to attend the regional events. Regional coaches and DOC’s will send players meeting the above criteria and GPS Elite Training Head Coaches will assess all the players during the event. Those players who are successful will be invited to to the GPS FC Bayern National Pool Event with the view of being selected for the GPS FC Bayern National Team Summer Competition.
GPS FC Bayern National Team Camp 2018 brought 300 plus players representing 36 clubs, 16 states, Puerto Rico and two Canadian provinces; the event has been the biggest gathering of GPS players ever in one location.

FC Bayern Munich is one of the biggest clubs in world football and has a proven track record of developing world class players. The club is recognized for producing the very best players who can play at the very highest level of international soccer. At the 2014 World Cup Final, five of Germany’s starting 11 were products of the FC Bayern Academy - Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Muller, Kroos and Hummels. The FC Bayern ID program, first launched in March 2015, is a club neutral program supported by FC Bayern’s official American youth partner, Global Premier Soccer and all official FC Bayern Affiliate clubs.

This program offers players a unique training experience delivered under the guidance of the experienced coaching staff at GPS.
