CSBA Approved Bats


Effective January 1, 2018 USA Baseball will be implementing a rule change to baseball bats used in youth programs.  This rule change has been adopted by Babe Ruth & Cal Ripken (CSBA’s Chartering Organization), Little League, PONY, Dixie and AABC.

So what does this mean for you?  This change ONLY impacts CSBA players participating in the Rookie and Cal Ripken divisions.  (Tee-Ball, Softball and Babe Ruth divisions are NOT impacted by this change.)

If purchasing a bat for participation in a Rookie or Ripken program, look for the USABat licensing mark.  (Sample image below):


The chart below shows CSBA approved bats for the 2018 season vs 2017.  As a reminder, wooden bats are not approved for any of these divisions.  Purchasing a bat is not required to participate in CSBA programs.  CSBA will continue to provide each team with approved bats for player use.
