2018/2019 Bat Requirements
Parents, Players, Coaches,
We would like to continue to provide some guidance on bats for this season and next. This may be the most confusing time period in our baseball careers on this topic, so please do not hesitate to ask, but also please take the time to understand what bat your son is using when playing Peachtree baseball.
These new bat requirements go into effect Jan. 1, 2018. Cal Ripken players can continue to use their currently eligible bat through this Fall season. We are communicating again now, as we did in the spring so that as you make any purchases now you have these new rules in mind.
Here is the official document from Babe Ruth on the transition from 2017 to 2018 (Note, refer to the chart to see what is changing):

New bat rules go into effect Jan 1 2018, so it is likely that you will need to buy a new bat in the Spring. Bats that meet these standards (USA Bat stamp) will be available to purchase as of 9/1/2017.
Special T-ball rules – Tball bats are affected by this change, however existing tball bats will be allowed if they 26” or shorter and marked as certified for tball. Those bats eligible to be grandfathered in will require a USA bat tball sticker placed on them. You can read more about the Tball specific program here.

Please ask your coach or email either of us if you have questions on this. It is confusing, but we are here to help.
