Chad Fancher has been named the 2017 BFSC Boy’s Traveling Coach of the Year for his work with the U14C2 team. This year, the team qualified for the State Tournament by winning it's qualifying bracket, and finished second in its regular season league (tied for 1st place on points, but earned 2nd on goal differential tie-breaker). Chad joined the BFSC coaching staff two seasons ago, returning to the club he grew up playing in. Here's what some of the nominators said about Coach Fancher:
“He was a great mentor for the boys, he gave great team updates to our parents and was very engaged with the players. It was fun to watch them improve as a team and my son really enjoyed him as a coach."
"Coach Chad has been able to instill some sense of discipline and respect to the players. As a parent seeing my son taking the initiative to make sure that he is at practice and games on time has been very significant."
"Having a competitive spirit is one thing that I thought was lacking from the past, and I have seen a complete change in the team's attitude as a whole. Using individual and team goals has been a good motivator for the team as well. I appreciate his efforts and hope that he continues to empower young boys with soccer wisdom."
"Chad is consistent, he is fair, and he knows how to elevate the standard for each player. He challenges them to improve, but his delivery is a powerful model for others to emulate - it's clear, it's caring, and it's effective."
We congratulate and thank Chad for his time, energy, and commitment to our community's children!
