THE PROGRAM
MSI offers its very popular recreational program for Kindergartners with an emphasis on fun-based games and skills development. Children are formed into groups that are based on school communities to the extent possible, and do not play an organized league schedule. They also do not have practice during the week. Rather, each Saturday involves small group training/skills development games, led by an MSI staff coach, followed by informal small-sided game play. These activities are designed to promote individual skill development and enjoyment of the game, with a top level objective of many smiling faces!

The fee for the Fall 2020 Kindergarten Program is $80.

LOCATION and SCHEDULES
The Kindergarten Program is held at central Montgomery County locations, typically one in Bethesda and one in Rockville. Specific field locations, group assignments, and season schedules will be announced about two weeks prior to Opening Day. This season the program is being held at Julius West MS.

September 26: Opening Weekend
October 24: Last Regularly Scheduled Kindergarten Program Date
October 31: Rain Date (no additional Rain Dates will be scheduled)
TIME COMMITMENT (these times are for reference purposes, only; format and times may change, due to Covid-19 situation)
The time commitment for the Kindergarten Program is for one (1) hour on Saturdays, with start times typically ranging between 9:00am and 12:00pm. The sessions start every half hour; i.e. 9:00am, 9:30am, 10:00am, etc. It is important to note that your child's group will have varying start times each week, but the field location will ALWAYS be the same for the entire season. Weekly sessions consist of 25 minutes of fun-based skills development, led by an MSI Staff Coach, followed by 25 minutes of fun-based game play.
GROUP FORMATION
Group assignments will be finalized and posted on this web page approximately two weeks prior to opening day. Kindergarteners are formed into groups based upon their current elementary school, unless otherwise requested in the registration. If you'd like for your Kindergartener to play with a particular friend, please indicate that in the "group request" field in the registration. We do separate boys and girls as much as possible.
UNIFORMS, EQUIPMENT
Note Change for Fall 2020: players will not be provided with KG program shirts, due to Covid-19 situation; also, every player MUST bring their own Size 3 soccer ball, with their name written on it)
MSI Kindergarten shirts will be handed out at the first session upon arrival for check-in. In addition all Kindergartners should wear proper soccer attire, which includes a mask, shin guards and cleats (or regular tennis shoes). Each player should bring a size 3 soccer ball, a water bottle, and a great big smile on their face!
Withdrawal and Refund Policy
We all hope and believe that we will be able to have vibrant MSI programs this fall, but in recognition of the possibility that we will not be able to, MSI will continue its "Families First" policy of providing families the choice of refunds or credits. In order to facilitate that process, in the event it becomes necessary, we will be asking you to please indicate your preference during the online registration process.
To withdraw from the MSI Kindergarten program, please send an email to msi@msisoccer.org with the header "Withdrawal". Include in the email the following information:
- Name of the child being withdrawn
- Age group of the child being withdrawn
- Reason for withdrawal
Refund requests received by August 3 will be assessed a $15 administrative fee. After August 3 there will be no refunds for Fall 2020.
