Game Lengths:
U4 and U6 – (2) 12 Minute Halves, 1-minute water break after 6 Minutes, 5 Minute Halftime.
U8 – (2) 20 Minute Halves, 1-minute water break after 10 Minutes, 5 Minute Halftime.
U10 and U12 – (2) 24 Minute Halves, 1-minute water break after 12 Minutes, 5 Minute Halftime.
U14+ – (2) 30 Minute Halves, 1-minute water break after 15 mins, 5 Minute Halftime.
Results:
Standings and Results will ONLY BE TRACKED for the U8 and above age groups.Each WIN is 3 points and a TIE is 1 point. There are no extra points for SHUTOUTS. Tiebreakers at the end of the season, for seeding, will then go to GOALS AGAINST, then GOALS FOR, then GOAL DIFF, if 2 or more teams are tied. If only 2 are tied then HEAD to HEAD, then GOALS AGAINST, then GOALS FOR, then GOAL DIFF., then COIN FLIP.
Forfeits:
If there are not enough players to play a game, determined but having MINUS 2 from the amount needed to play on the field in the game, it will result in a 3-0 forfeit after 15 mins of waiting. The exact numbers of players needed to play the game will be announced once the teams are formed. HOWEVER, the game will still be played by borrowing players from the other team that did show up. It is important to play a game, even if a forfeit has already been awarded.
Weather:
If weather causes any of the games on Saturday to be rained out, we will attempt to get the games in on either the next Tuesday or Thursday based on weather forecast from www.weather.com. If either of those are rained out, we will not make up that game and just continue with the next week’s schedule. If it is semi-finals or championship week we will play those games as soon as possible, even if we must schedule multiple games on the same day. If you are playing in the Game of the Week game, that game will be scheduled to be played on the following Saturday.
Cancellations or postponements will be communicated via the NLYS Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/NorthLakelandYouthSoccer) at least 30 mins prior to kick off. NLYS will also instruct the team’s coaches to have good contact information for their team and they will also reach out. Games can be played in a light rain as long as there is NO LIGHTNING in the area. LIGHTNING or HEAVY RAIN will cause the game to be canceled or delayed until the weather passes.

If your GAME HAS STARTED BUT NOT MADE IT TO HALF TIME, THE ENTIRE GAME WILL BE REPLAYED. The games will START OVER at 0-0.
If your GAME HAS STARTED AND MADE IT TO HALF TIME, THE GAME IS FINAL AT THAT TIME.
Season starts:
The season will start on Saturday, March 11th when we will have our Opening Ceremonies, First games, and Team Picture day. The season will finish with the crowning of the Universal Cup on Saturday, May 20th. We will play every Saturday between these dates EXCEPT for SATURDAY, APRIL 15th. That should give each team at least 11 total games to play. Lil Rowdies (U4) will play 8 games and run from Saturday, March 11th to May 6th.
Easter and Spring Break:
Spring Break falls on the week of March 20th-24th, GAMES WILL BE PLAYED MARCH 18th AND MARCH 25th. However, there will be no “GAME OF THE WEEK” during this week. Easter falls on Sunday, April 16. We will NOT play on SATURDAY, APRIL 15th.
Championship Weekend – Universal Cup (EXCEPT U4 and U6):
Each team will have 7-9 regular season games scheduled to play. Then, based on records, the semi-finals will be on Saturday, May 13th and the Championship will be May 20th. Even if a team doesn’t make it into the Championship or Semi-Finals, they WILL still have a game on EACH OF THOSE DAYS, so that all teams will play each week. For U6, while we will keep standings, we will not be doing playoffs for that group. We will just have regularly scheduled games those days. For Lil Rowdies (U4), see below.
Lil Rowdies (U04=BIRTH YEAR 2013):
NLYS is excited to offer another Lil Rowdies program for the Spring. Lil Rowdies will continue to practice on Friday nights and will play their games on Saturday morning. Their season will run a couple weeks shorter than older groups. They will have their first practice onFriday, March 3rd, with the first game on Saturday, March 11th. The final games will be played on Saturday, May 6th.
