Have A Question? Start Here.

We have done our best to provide detailed information on our league for the families that participate in EBYBS. The league is ran entirely by volunteers with full time jobs and like most people, not a lot of time to spare. For this reason, we ask that you please double check the content on our site in case the answers to your questions can be found within our website. You will find a plethora of information for each baseball and softball division by following the links in the navigation above. Some of the more common questions can be found below.

League-Wide FAQs

    • Tee Ball - $60
    • 7-8 year old - $75
    • 9-12 year old - $85
    • 13-15 year old - $90
  • Yes, this is possible. Most players will play within their age range as they work their way up through the divisions. Some players are more advanced and we want them to remain challenged playing in EBYBS.

Players league age 4 are not able to play up to Tee Ball and must wait until the following season, we have a strict cutoff at age 5.

If your league age 6 child excels at throwing, catching, and can hit a moving ball, you may consider requesting advancing through their second year of Tee Ball directly to Rookies Baseball or 8U Rookies Softball.

If your league age 8 child excels at throwing, catching, and is ready to hit live pitching off other players, you may consider requesting advancing through their second year of Rookies Baseball or 8U Rookies Softball to Minors Baseball or 10U Minors Softball.

NOTE: Starting with the Minors level in baseball and softball, an assessment before the spring season is required in order to be placed on a team. Notify us if your child plans on attending the assessment to attempt to be placed on a team in a higher division. If your child is not picked on a team after assessments, they will be placed on a lower division team within their age range.

Baseball and Softball FAQs

  • Divisions are mostly decided by player league age. There are variations as your child gets older and is required to assess before each season.

    • Tee Ball: League age 5 and 6. The more advanced league age 6 players may have the ability to play up to the Rookies Baseball/8U Rookies Softball divisions.

    • Rookies Baseball/8U Rookies Softball: League age 7 and 8. The more advanced league age 8 players may have the ability to play up to the Minors Baseball/10U Minors Softball divisions.

    • Minors Baseball/10U Minors Softball: League age 9 and 10. More advanced league age 9 and 10 players will likely be chosen to Majors 60's Baseball/12U Majors Softball teams via the assessments and draft system used by EBYBS. No request to play up is necessary as this will be decided automatically by the coaches of each division.

    • Majors 60's Baseballl: League age 9 to 12. The league age 11 and 12 players that are not selected to a higher division of Majors 70's Baseball will automatically be placed on a team in the Majors 60's Baseball division. The more advanced league age 9 and 10 players will likely be chosen to Majors 60's teams. No request to play up is necessary as this will be decided automatically by the coaches of each division.

    • 12U Majors Softball: League age 11 and 12. The more advanced league age 10 players will likely be chosen to 12U Majors Softball teams via the assessments and draft system used by EBYBS. No request to play up is necessary as this will be decided automatically by the coaches of each division.

  • Every player league age 9 and above is required to assess every spring. Some league age 8 players will also assess in the spring if they are attempting to play up with the league age 9/10 group. The players will be split into groups for league age 9-10, 11-12, and 13-15.

A typical setup for assessments includes players fielding a couple balls from the outfield, a couple balls from the infield, and hitting a handful of batting practice speed pitches from a league official. They should wear appropriate baseball clothing, including cleats and a hat, and should bring their baseball glove, as well as baseball bat and helmet if they have one. A helmet and bat will be available to players who do not have one.

To participate in assessments, your child must be registered with the league, either before assessments or by signing up at assessments. They should wear appropriate baseball clothing, including cleats and a hat, and should bring their baseball glove, as well as baseball bat and helmet if they have one. A helmet and bat will be available to players who do not have one.

Registration FAQs

  • Please register your child for the division appropriate for their age. After you complete registration, send an email to the league to explain the situation and reference your order information so we can make a note on your account.
  • If your child is league age 9-12 and registered to play baseball, the division listed during or after registration is not relevant. Your child will be required to assess in the spring and a coach from each division will be able to draft your child onto their team. Majors 70's Baseball coaches have first pick, Majors 60's Baseball coaches have second pick, and the remaining players are drafted to Minors Baseball teams. All players league age 11 and 12 will play either Majors 70's Baseball or Majors 60's Baseball. All players league age 9 and 10 will at least make a Minors Baseball team. The same is true for softball players, but divided only between 10U Minors Softball and 12U Majors Softball divisions.

Players that are trying to play up a division, specifically Tee Ball to Rookies and Rookies to Minors, are required to email the league to inform them of this decision and the reason for the decision. We will make a note on your account to show the request. If attempting to play up to Minors as a league age 8 player, your child must attend spring assessments. If they do not attend, they will not be placed on a Minors team.
