2020-2021 Competitive Player Placements

Virtual & On-Field May 18 - Jun 11

Virtual Player Placements allow you to safely compete at home while being evaluated by the Legends Coaches and Directors.

On-Field Player Placements will be modified to follow social distancing protocols.

Players will be evaluated based upon their coach-ability, technical skills, and physical competence.

We do our best to make competitive soccer simple.

Our Player Placements are fun-filled soccer sessions designed to bring out the best in your player.  And, while they are having a blast playing soccer, we'll have multiple staff available to answer all the questions you have about our club.

You have BIG plans for your child's development - we would love to be a part of it.  We have BIG plans for soccer in NWA - we would love for you to be a part of it.

Legends Player Placements: COVID19 Update from Matt Holdaway

Player Placement Schedules

The Player Placement Schedule will limit the number of players per On-Field Session to ensure maximum safety for all players, parents, and coaches.  Team numbers will look incredibly small because we must not exceed 10 people per pod on the field including the coach.  In addition, some players may be asked by the coaches to attend other Player Placements in order to keep numbers well balanced.  Also for additional safety, we must ask parents to stay inside their cars if you do plan on staying.

1. All On-Field Player Placements will be at the Legends Fields located at 2535 W New Hope Rd., Rogers, AR. 72758
2. Virtual Player Placements Zoom Link and Password will be sent the day of via email and then within 30 minutes before it begins via email.

COVID-19:  Returning to Play

We have always believed in the developmental benefits of youth soccer. Now, more than ever, families are looking for small ways to offer their children a sense of normalcy.  We all need fun ways to stay active and healthy! If we approach this wisely, we can offer our players fun, engaging soccer sessions that maximize the benefits of soccer, while minimizing the risks of the current situation. We are taking extra steps to ensure the safety of our players and families during our on-field sessions.

Some of the steps we're taking:

-Hand sanitizing stations at each field

-Masks available for all coaches

-Physical distancing marked on the fields and sidelines

-Modified curriculum to limit contact between players

  • No traditional game-play, 1v1, 2v2, etc
  • Activities, games, skill challenges setup to maximize space between players
  • Curriculum focused on:
    • Technical skills, footwork, dribbling, and soccer moves
    • Speed and agility
    • Shooting games and challenges
    • Passing and receiving
    • Soccer IQ

We will also continue offering virtual training sessions via Zoom. This ensures families that aren't comfortable returning to play can stay involved.
We are thankful for the support of our families and will continue to work hard to serve you.

"Training Soccer Legends” is a “Go For It” philosophy. Time is precious! However, many are the number of creative skills to be conquered. Becoming a Legend is the dream. Penetration is the goal. Why then go backwards or sideways? Those are directions for ordinary players not for the budding ball wizard. Because time is so short and the creative challenges are many, we have eliminated all backwards and sideways combination plays from the Legends developmental process and curriculum. College and professional recruiters are looking for those special players who can create, and/or finish, goal-scoring opportunities. Therefore, we can’t afford to waste our player’s precious developmental time on keep away drills involving trail passes and switching the point of attack, when the hardest and most vital component of the game is the ability to penetrate and score. Players who have been encouraged to “go for it” and think in terms of driving relentlessly forward, are those who stand the greatest chance of learning how to dribble, pass, or combine the two, to penetrate defenses and create goal scoring opportunities."
