Good Afternoon Kirtland Youth Soccer Families, 

Ohio North announced last week that all Ohio North affiliated activities through June 1, 2020 are cancelled.  Ohio North affiliated activities include scheduled games, team practice/training sessions, or sponsored activities that are under direct supervision of a team official; or sanctioned local or national tournaments as a member of a contestant team (e.g., any activity that Ohio North sanctions and insures). We had held off on our communication to see what the teams in our league were going to do, either cancel the spring season or wait until June 1st. Many of the communities we play against have decided to cancel spring season, but organize fun scrimmages if there is an opportunity to do so later this summer.

If Ohio North "re-opens" soccer then KYSL would be allowed to organize voluntary team practices, organize scrimmages with neighboring communities, and facilitate a summer soccer camp.  Until then, hopefully players are working on their individual skills.   

We feel particularly sad for our 6th graders, who will move on to middle school soccer not having played their final soccer season together.  We thank you for playing soccer with KYSL and wish you all the best with your middle school soccer careers.    

Our attention as an organization will now turn to the fall soccer season.  We know that our fall soccer registration is usually open by now. We have intentionally held off until we have more direction from the Governor of Ohio and the City of Kirtland.  We will provide updates as soon as we can.

In a separate email in the next few days, we will provide a Google Survey for our families with how they would like to receive their refund of the spring season fees. These surveys will be targeted based on refund amount, so you will understand what the refund value is when you receive the survey email.

Option 1: Refund via check. The amounts may vary based on division and discounts that were provided at registration (early bird, multi-player discount). 

Option 2: Donate your reimbursement to Kirtland Cares. Due to the current crisis in our area, the City of Kirtland has established KIRTLAND CARES. The primary objective of this effort is to make sure members of our community do not go without during this time.
