All team assignments are final and coaches have been placed. Have a great GBA season!
1. Following tryouts, there will be a short period to complete evaluations and form teams or squads. No parent(s)/coach(s) are allowed to evaluate their own child(s) tryout.
2. 3rd grade teams. There will be one team made up of the top 8-10 players based on tryout evaluations. All remaining 3rd grade players are divided into equal teams according to tryout evaluations.
3. 4th and 5th grade teams are divided into A, B, C, etc. teams according to tryout evaluations and previous coach evaluations.
4. 6th through 8th grade teams will each consist of maximum 2 squads (40 player maximum per grade consisting of 20 players/squad). Squads are formed according to tryout evaluations and previous coach evaluations. These squads are further evaluated in the fall at which time the final team rosters are formed. Squad 1 will become the A and B teams and Squad 2 will become the C and D teams.
5. You will be notified via an email of your child's team/squad assignment. A date will be published to accept or decline your child's roster spot. If you choose to accept, the GBA website will take you through a process that will complete your registration. Full payment will be due at that time.
6. Refunds are only given due to medical reasons or if player moves to another school. Refunds for any other reason will be at GBA discretion. Also, there are no refunds in the fall for 6-8th grade players once final rosters come out. If you accept the squad they have been selected to after tryouts, then you are affirming to accept the team they are eventually placed on after final tryouts next fall. For example, if you accept your son/daughter being placed on squad 1 and next fall they end up on B team...there is no refund for backing out because they were not placed on the A team.
7. Cost for the GBA Competitive program (including Hoffman’s Hoops Academy skills sessions) for 2018-2019 season will be available prior to the open of tryout registration.
8. If you are interested in coaching your child's team, please volunteer during the registration process, or contact Matt Rose ([email protected]) with your request. Volunteering to coach does not guarantee you a coaching position.
9. Depending upon coach availability, our goal is to use paid, non-parent coaches for the A and B teams at the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade levels. Due to their limited availability, a paid, non-parent coach is not guaranteed for any of these teams.
10. GBA policy states that all children must play with their grade. No playing up. We will be checking to make sure everyone complies with this policy.
