Orangevale Offers
Orangevale offers soccer for all age groups in both recreational and competitive formats. See the Rec and Comp Age Groups matrices on the right side of the page.
Micro Soccer
The ARYSL Micro Soccer Program is a developmental soccer program for 5 through 8 year olds, where the kids learn by playing small-sided games of 4-a-side. The emphasis of the program is on FUN, and learning the basic skills (dribbling, passing and shooting) for soccer.
Recreational Soccer
Our Recreational program (Rec) is available for everyone who wants to play. No prior experience necessary. There are no tryouts or pre-requisites. We try to keep players together on the same team each year. In the upper age groups, we try to keep the number of players balanced across teams to make them all competitive. As the children get older, the number of players on a team increases as they begin playing on larger fields and play longer games.

Competitive Soccer
Our competitive soccer program gives players an opportunity to play at a higher level than recreational play usually provides. Competitive soccer is by single-age group divisions (age-pure), for example, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19.
Competitive teams play between 25 to 40+ games per season as opposed to recreational teams, which generally play 10 games per season. The additional games include tournaments and post season, District 6 and Cal North tournament type matches.
