Girls Program Announced, Director Named!

Today, the MaxPro Jets/Boston Stars Hockey Club announced the formation of our first ever Girls program and the appointment of Kristin McKenzie as Girls Director for the Club.

McKenzie will coach the U18 MaxPro Jets Girls team and also serves as Women’s Head Coach at Arlington Catholic High School.  In addition to her duties coaching the U18 team, she will oversee the formation of U14, U12, and U10 teams for 2018-2019. Kristin McKenzie, of Arlington, MA, grew up playing four years’ varsity ice hockey for Arlington High School and went on to play college ice hockey for Salem State University and was captain and leading goal scorer for the Vikings in her senior season.

Kristin is currently finishing her first season as head coach for the Arlington Catholic girls’ varsity ice hockey team and previously coached for the town of Arlington girls’ youth hockey program where she helped coach the u10, u12, and u14 team to the state tournament in the 2016-17 season.  “I am so thrilled to be joining the MaxPro Jets and Boston Stars family. My goal is to build a girls program that allows our players to build a foundation to get better, have a love for the game, a respect for teammates, and a desire to win. This can make any group of young women and girls reach goals that seemed once impossible.”

“Building a girls program is something we wanted to do for a long time and we now have a management team in place to help us get there. With someone of Kristin’s credentials leading us, we can be very successful in a short amount of time.” said Max Gratchev, President of the Club.

Girls tryouts are posted to the tryout page.
